Maxwell Users Please Help

Hi All
Ive been using Sketchup and the Maxwell Render plugin for a while, however the one thing i cant do is produce a render with a carpet. I have been asked for a room to be designed but with a shaggy carpet.
Now ive found the MXM texture i want to use but everytime i apply the texture, in the render the carpet goes mad and peaks up and down. Ive been advised that i should use the grass tool to create carpet but i cant work out how as even when i add the MXM texture to the grass properties it still looks like grass.
