Am I the only one that keeps thinking "gee, if I spent time learning how to use this stuff I'd be much more productive" . . . I sort of grabbed a handful of functionality and ran with it . . . there's really so much more you can do with this stuff - like, I've never even used the section tool . . . :gasp: . . .

@unknownuser said: Hi Edson, Thank you for your note. Based on your description it sounds like you may be encountering the "License Limit Exceeded" message. Please be aware that this is a known issue with the Leopard operating system, and we're currently working to resolve it. If you are receiving this message while using Leopard, we suggest upgrading to the recently released OS 10.5.2 If this doesn't resolve your issue, or you're not running Leopard, we suggest disconnecting from the internet. Please disable any wired or wireless internet connection, restart your computer, then attempt to authorize again. Thanks again for taking the time to write. Regards, The Google Team this is the answer i got from google help. they were quite fast and helpful. i am quoting their reply here in the hope it can help other people. i do hope they do not mind. well, i did as suggested: disconnected my mac and the dreaded message stopped. let's see what happens tomorrow. will this fix it for good or will i have to disconnect every time i launch SUp? P.S.: anssi, i had already done what you suggested. as you can see, it is a bug.

We have a bit "extended" collection containing some other sites than the two major ones Remus linked in here. Have a look at the FAQ at Smustard to see more in the details how rubies work and how to use them. Note that some scripts go to the Tools folder rather than thje Plugins folder. Since ruby scripts are basically text files, the authors usually put a few lines of information about how to use the script (and where to install) on the top.

Here are a couple of links to metal textures. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=b7241eebb0f5b5d933bf41b1f231ed96 http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=67e757a616cd88dddc50a691c68014fd Of course you can always take a nice picture and make a texture out of that. You can also use a program like Photoshop to create your own, you will find a few tutorials on how to make metal textures: http://photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-tutorials/textures/metal-texture.html

Hi Red, It's quite easy actually. Since components (including those in the component browser) are simple skp models, move (or copy) your existing skp files into the Components folder of your SU application (best way to sort them into separate folders) and they will appear in your browser. Note that you need not necessarily turn them into "real" components; any imported geometry comes into SU as a component already. Ah yes, and welcome...

You will find a ton of hospital components at Form Fonts. Here is a search under "Hospital": http://www.formfonts.com/search.php?area=1&site=&query=hospital&submit2=Submit

couldnt you just cut out the face area, project the texture and then stick it back onto the head? probably more work and not as good results as exporting it though

@mitcorb said: I suspect that porting it through Revit reset the origins/axes of the offending geometry So it does. Revit, although it doesn't use OpenGL, is almost as bad at large coordinates as SU. When Solo imported the DWG file and then re-exported the view, the origin was set at the Revit model origin, not the one in the DWG. Anssi

Hi yNot If you import the .bmp file it will remain a raster image. This is not editable from within sketchup. Your best bet is to render an image (as you've done) then import as a photo-match. You can then set up trees, people, etc in the foreground. If you really want to edit a bmp in sketchup the only way to do it is to hit "explode" then draw boundaries round areas you want to change (hold down SHIFT to lock to the surface). When the area turns blue (skins over) you can use the materials browser to add whatever texture you want. All the best Rob

Ah, Didier, that is even a more efficient way to assign tranparency. Also, I use groups on just about everything and once you are inside a group the the display of bitmaps "behind" may not be viewable.
