Gene, I just posted a link to the beginning of a tut over at JLC. This will be for a draped hip roof though and not for a dutch hip. Here it is on yousendit.com http://tinyurl.com/22gnqm

Hi freanznad, You can read about the material editor here (SU Guide > Modele settings and managers > Material browser). Transparency is somewhere around 2/3 down on the page (not too much info though when you learn how to use it you'll see that not too much info needed...)

Hi man, wassssuppp ? i think i found the issue here... i'm running SU6 and i found 2 issues: 1.Sketchup didn't recognize my path to the folder... or that it was unable to read my file name (i had some files in Latin language)... solution: create a "tmp" folder under drive (i.e. "C:\my_dwg") and export the file (DWG) to there (give it a simple name like "try")and import to sketchup from there. when i've created some dwg files i insert unsupported charecters to the Layer Manager... i.e. i had layer which called "table&carpet" or ".door" and ONLY after removed those illegle charecters sketchup was able to load it ... hope i'ved help u... let me know if i didn't and will try to figure something for u. Shto

another tip is to 'zoom extents' this will zoom you in so that the model entirely fills your screen. You can zoom extents by pressing ctrl+shift+e, or its also in the camera menu (might be somewhere else, havent got SU on the machine im using at the moment ) ps getting the model to fill your screen is useful because SU prints what your seeing on the screen.

well i guess it must be late. i just re-read your post and you were talking about "Artstudio Pro" not the "Virtual Painter" program. oooooops. i just downloaded the trial version of "Artstudio Pro" and it looks pretty good - more in line with Mike Lucy's "PhotoArtMaster" recommendation (a lot more artistic control). looks promising - i'll have to play with it more tomorrow. jb the big swooooosh looking thing is the program's trial version watermark [image: 0Sut_table2copy.JPG]

..... and the final piece in the ANES Collection, the 4 Drawer Chest. I realise that the timber texture is not the same as that of the actual range. Does anyone have a texture that is close ? Mike ANES 4 Drawer Chest.skp [image: 33b5_Picture19.png]

No it wasn't me. I do vaguely remember someone losing the FBX exporter; I did a quick search but didn't get anything. Sorry.

@pmiller said: Or just use SU's "save copy as" as you need. It doesn't interrupt your workflow (unlike "save as") since the original model stays current in your working session. Yeah, that's what I'de've suggested reading your lines...

Thank you Gai, I can work with this. It isnt exactly what I was thinking of, but it will do very nicely. The Ruby Gang did real good. Thanks ever so much. Mike

This is very nice Mike. My apologies. I probably shouldn't have posted that. I've removed it.
