Gai,
I also import as an image, but if I don't explode and group I end up with plan texture on pulled walls. The other reason I went to exploding my imports is I have been plagued with numerous bug splats after importing an image.(Why I can't answer) The only resolve I have found to date is to explode and group. I have not had any bug splats in the last ten days or so.

RE: Using png base picture
Paul,
This is how I do png imports. Keep in mind I am using windows not mac. I import my floor plan then explode the png. Select all and then group the imported plan. Then I create a layer named Floorpln and assign the imported floor plan to this layer. This will allow me to toggle between floor plan & model for visibility as needed. I select the new grouped floor plan go to the edit menu and select lock.Good luck, hope this helps.

RE: Middle Mouse Button
Check out the laptop button settings for your touch pad. Locate the middle button, if it does not say middle button you will have to change it. There are several options available, but the middle button selection is what you are after. This will provide the rotate/orbit behavior you are looking for.
Any problems write back w/ model and os.jp

RE: 50X80 Shop Building
Sam,
As what has been stated previously your truss ans also the wall structure seem way out of proportion. I will send you a simple model I did for a client study. Please look at the difference in the walls and trusses between your current model and the one attached. Any questions drop me a note.

RE: Solo Town
Pete.
All of the renders capture a number of different details. From architectural to environmental. I have to say my favorite is the dusk one. The sky is what enhances the entire look. The reflections are for me the icing on the cake. They add their own depth to an incredible scene. Incredible detail without being overdone. -
RE: Skb file location
First I appreciate the help and the discussions.
I cannot speak to any of u Mac warriors, Sorry I don"t use a Mac. I have had three instances with Skippy Pro that went south without warning.(Thankful for skb) I also have just had a crash with Seven Pro I believe was operator fault, so I am going to continue to use skb files. I just get in a hurry sometimes and open the skb file by mistake. It is not a big deal just a time thing. I have done some research and cannot find any rubys to satisfy my current need. -
RE: Skb file location
Alan,
Thanks for the reply.
In the early days of Acad there was a lsp or scr that you put in your start up file that allowed a different save directory for baks. -
Skb file location
Am I able to change where the skb files are saved to? Sometimes I inadvertently open the skb files when I am not paying attention.
thanks, -
RE: Refer Madness!!
Thank you to all for the comments. This is how we as a community will continue to grow.
Without the company name and logo they look a little bare. Sorry! This dock area is ten doors wide. The whole idea was the new trailers and the proposed graphics. I tried a number of different renders (47) until I found a scheme I liked.@unknownuser said:
Nice renders by the way.
Solo: It's people like you, Tom, Lewis, Bruce, Fletch... and all the others that have shared their time, project drawings and help that has brought me to this point. So to all of you Thank you!
Pavement:
This was the biggest hurdle. I still haven't found a way to make the pavement look the way my minds eye sees it. The later you move the clock forward the brighter the concrete became. When I get some time tonight I am going to move the grid closer to try to narrow the pavement presence. -
RE: Refer Madness!!
Pete,
I have rescaled the drawings to 655x425 How can I post the new ones and remove the overly large ones?
