The case will have to be all tied up first before you post the models. Under Uk law at least, if you circulate case documents outside the court prior to the verdict (sub-judice)you will be in breach of the law.

Are you drawing inside a group? Try drawing outside it . . . .

Hi guys, although we have gone a bit OT, it's a nice curve. So never forget that after all we are on the SketchUcation site so see Wodan's tip a bit expanded here. Ans certainly Paul's idea about the shorcuts is a very useful one since then you need not keep openin/closing that dialogue.

as an example.. i used the protractor and entered the degrees in the vcb... i then panned very far away from the original point and zoomed in... you'll see that the lines were able to be drawn more precisely than .1 [image: LtfS_angle.jpg]

Thanks for the reply....gave me another idea...DWG viewer. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112 Import dwg into SU, then use the viewer to see what is missing. Glenn downloaded, installed, looks like it will do the trick. I just need to see the notes in the dwg file about materials, etc.

@unknownuser said: Then I remembered that I don't really have much interest in cars. LOL! C'mon, really? If that's true, I can't understand it - doesn't compute, but I bet you do really great architectural models &/or other equally cool stuff. @unknownuser said: The only different procedure I used was to use "follow me" to make the curve up into the hood. That way it already had faces. I found that to be quicker than angle move/copying and adding the faces. I also added some variety in colors so that even when things are smoothed out, I could see some details. Yes, great suggestion. Perhaps one advantage of the way I described would give the user freedom to vary the path in two directions instead of just one (like scaling the width sometimes, then scaling the height, for example). Also, I've had trouble getting the FollowMe tool to keep the original plane in it's original angle which can get messy after creating the sweep - this is most likely due to my lack of user understanding.

I don't know exactly, but you mentioned cutting out MDF board. why not export a dxf and import the dxf in your cnc cad program ? Or maybe if the building is solid, use the ruby slicer, so you've got the building in thin piece's and export these with ADO ? and import these in the cnc-programming software. what kind of cnc-machine are you talking about (how many axes ?)

A little bonus with the buttons is... because you can have them have different functionality in different apps you can kinda sneak in a "3rd button" The default setup is that the 2nd button launches the preferences panel for the navigator which is very handy for making adjustments while you're using it. As handy as that is, I wanted different functions in Sketchup so I had to "sacrifice" that functionality and switched the number 2 button to go to X-Ray view instead. BUT if I click on the desktop and have the Finder currently active, pressing the 2nd button still brings up the preferences panel. So it's almost like having a 3rd button.

sorry richard, i took the pic on a whim, its from the front of a cottagey stlye house, so not very modern. Im not very good on architecture, being more of a design man myself, so i cant really help you with finding your buildings. Someone on here can probably come up with a few suggestions though.

The problems you are experiencing are most likely due to Linework is not coplanar (some linework either sloping in the z axis or at totally different elevations) and / or You have dirty CAD linework - Overshoots, Undershoots, Lines not Intersecting correctly, Slivers, Double linework and other such Junk / Spaghetti. Try flattening all linework in your CAD program - if you have access to Autocad - the Command is FLATTEN if you have Express Tools loaded - then you'll KNOW its in 2D. ... Clean up the CAD Linework as much as possible if it's at all feasible. Alternatives - Visit Smustard: http://www.smustard.com/scripts/ Download 2 scripts - Flatten and Make Faces. Once Data Flattened - Run Make Faces Script. ... Hope this helps. Howard L'
