RE: Sitebuilder-Revit not loading in windoz (looking for advice)
answer:
java wasn't updated when Sitebuilder was installed. The latest of both programs was downloade, then the old versions removed, and Java was reinstalled prior to Sitebuilder being reinstalled. Works fine.

Sitebuilder-Revit not loading in windoz (looking for advice)
I have two programs that are not booting...
I recently reformatted and reloaded windoz XP on my notebook. Everything is working fine except Revit and Yahoo Sitebuilder wont boot. Both programs start to boot, flash an hourglass for about a second or two, then show no other signs of running. I have installed the flashplayer plug-in, cleared cookies, allowed firewall settings, turned off virus software, un-installed, cleared out all folders in the Programs Folder, and re-installed, etc.I am at a loss for remedies, does anyone have any ideas that may help? Is active x causing trouble.....?
Thanks for your advice,
Edit: Sorry for entering a non-SU topic on the forum, just hoping someone else may have experienced this same problem.

RE: Windows Seven & ShetchUP
try turning your resolution down to the lowest setting. Errant stuff will usually reappear. That is what brought back a missing RPTools menu on my old machine.

ets say you have a concrete wall. you define the solid object to be made of concrete. when you now place a section cut right through this wall
good point Paris,
I've been thinking about this aspect of rectangles also. If a secton's cut edge could be selectable, the surface could be made and then a material used (or poche'd).I think dimensioning in LO is a mute point...because the LO screen isn't reading or registering the SU model to dimension, and it proibably never will. I too would like dimensions to work in LO. My model gets too heavy when I dimension on SU, and then the dimensions dont show consistently in LO.
Revit does all this doesn't it?

RE: Layout Resolutions
Hi Gai! You have to be super busy....hanks for a reply.
So I download SU7, and load a current project, I want to pdf it to see if I can read the SU text. The text is a little bit better at High Resolution than layout Beta, but I dont think I can collect money for it...
I found the print selections, and tried them out. I like my resolutions and dpis high all the time, so when I have to select High, and the test that is 2'-0" tall SU text on sheets is still chunky, I started trying to reinsert all LO text instead. Kills the keep your text live concept.I am seeing a few issues like:
- when I print to pdf, some components dont show up in the pdf.
- The SU area of the LO sheet has a purple tint to it, even though the background is selected to be white, and this combines with missing components
- I used a default LO 24x36 sheet and inserted my SU file, The LO sheet will pdf but the contents dont (it's blank).
i can navigate layout beta pretty well, though I will admit I had to revert to ACAD to actually publish anything. I'm seeing there are some changes in LO2 that will need to be learned, (like where did the right click UPDATE Command go?) I found Update Reference selection; but it doesnt do anything, and going back to the setup? menu to update is cumbersome, and actually forcing the issue causes Bugsplats...
Anyway , I see LO2 is better, and after trialing it for about 2 hours I am just wondering...Does it work?
