Thanks Markus, coming from an expert like you that's a pat on the back I've nearly finished the collection of furniture that is going into the apartment, just a couple more pieces to model. I was there for 5 days last week putting all this stuff to geather .... my hands are quite numb at this stage I'm attaching a couple of pics showing how I'm getting on. @Greyhead and Remus: JoinPP is a powerfull script for push/pull on terrain, but there was a problem here. If you use this tool , pull a shape along z axis to make a wall or a road on terrain, the top faces of the wall were a copy of these ones on terrain, it was not "flat", for example, vehicle such as cars can not ride on, is there another way to fix this?

cheers for those, always good to add a few more materials to the collection. Just as a tip for next time you psot something, its cool if you can attach a pic of the texture/model so people get an idea of what they're downloading. Thanks again.

A slightly buggy Triangulate.rb is available at Ruby Library Depot to first triangulate faces. The script messes up on a few types of faces, but it does save work. Add a one-step undo by inserting model.start_operation "Triangulate" ### one-step Undo after line 56, entities = model.entities.

If you want the entire scene with cameras exported then use .max, if you only want the object then use .3ds.

I have successfully exported models with groups/components painted from "outside" to Kerkythea for rendering but this must really depend on the renderer you use (and the plugin you export with). The same with back faces - previously the SU2KT plugin did not export materials applied to back faces (or at least they did not render) while it does now. 3ds max however cannot handle back faces (and even the materials applied on them do not export from SU).

Dear Elisei, Cheerful comment. I want remember again the great part you had taken in this study: [ @ely862me said: sds is good but u need to know how to use it (clickable quote) ](http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f) As I was not completely satisfied with the result: Top faces not really smooth: [image: th_MoltLet_b.jpg] I have tried back to subdivide (manually) the top face of the "subsurf proxy": something which we had discussed.. This time, the result is OK to me [image: thMoltLet_c.jpg] [image: thMoltLet_d.jpg] My conclusion: If the S&S operation is not completely satisfying, don't try to repair the resultant "subsurf" (as I had done), but come back on the "subsurf proxy" to discover what is wrong. Because in my case, all the little odd results of the subsurfs where coming from little wrong drawings of the proxies. simon

@jclements said: I was thinking it would be cool if you could associate sound (at least a narrative) to a Scene Tab or even an entity. If the SU Viewer is used, then when a the Scene Tab is clicked on the narrative would play or, if the Scene Animation is played, the narrative would be played as soon as the Scene is queued (the Scene's minimum display time would be restricted by the length of the narrative). If the model is opened in SketchUp, then allow the presenter to trigger the narrative by Control-Clicking on Scene Tab or entity (if the cursor passes over a "sound-entity", the cursor could change color or shape to indicate a narrative is available; likewise, the Scene Tab would have a different color or tagged with an icon to queue the presentor it has a narrative). Good ideas, John! I'm not sure it can be done exactly as you describe, but maybe close enough. Sorry I can't make a commitment to working on it - hopefully someone will pick up on the idea.

For those interested, I've added the upper chamber to the above-referenced 'work in progress.' (I'm done - I certainly don't intend to model the blast damage from the 2005 bombing!) There doesn't appear to actually be a 'chamber' in there - only internal spiral stairs to the roof deck. It looks like it's completely filled-in stonework (conjecture.) Historically, there was apparently a wooden post-and-roof structure above the deck. (Only the sockets for the posts remain today.) Model is posted in the SketchUp 3D Warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=de78ece7f12a167c663f954f31de8916 I'm certainly wrong about some of the upper details, but I can't find photos taken from the correct angle - showing the doorway and internal stairs at the top. Updated Trimble 3DWarehouse URL for the SketchUp model: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/de78ece7f12a167c663f954f31de8916/Malwiya-Tower Regards, Taff [image: yAE8_Samarra.jpg]

Dear Gaieus and Tig, This pack is beginning to make a good toolkit. It seems that Weld.rb by Rick Wilson is responsible for a large number of developments: Chamfer_Along_Path.rb , PipeAlongPath.rb , ExtrudeAlongPath.rb , TubeAlongPath.rb etc,,, where it appears that mister Tig is not for nothing... simonlebon
