It works! Of course.. But not with my current project... Did a new simple scene and "save as 6" and it worked fine. Could open the file in SU version 6. Sometime my file got corrupted. Funny its only in the backwardsconversion Im having difficulties with the model. Works with Kerky for ex. I work on the model and if I come up with a new idea I save it with a different name "save as". is that a bad workflow? Should one copy and paste in new SU window? Shouldent make any difference in my logic. Anyway. It is (probably) not a bug then.

What could be akward about imperial units? We measure inches down to the 1/64, 12 inches in a feet, 3 feet in a yard, a lot of yards in a mile. Even more feet in a mile. Then theres also a lot of square feet in an acre, and a certain amount of acres in a square mile. And sometimes someone talks about hectares and I'm not sure if those are metric or imperial. See, its just that easy. I honestly google imperial unit definitions regularly when I have to go larger than feet and inches, and I have used the system my whole life. It could be worse though, it could be based on some ligical system of 10's or something..... Chris

Whilst it's sometimes quicker just to double click, if the faces you are push-pulling are all painted with the same material, or all on the same layer, you can firstly right click one face and select all faces with same material/layer, then use JPP. It's then only a two step operation and very fast. Kenny

I've been using it on a current project, it was working fine but now the gml texturizer window won't open and it crashes SU quite alot. I've tried reinstalling it but it still does it. Crashes SU7 too. There are no installation notes on their website. Good app though when it works.

Its symmetrical. The 2nd half of the path is a mirror opposite of 1st half. So all the twists and turns it takes to get to the 1/2 way point all get redone in mirror opposite on the way back. Thats why this model appears to have no twisting from one end to the other. But try it on a model that is not symetrical and there will be wtwisting when the end comes back to the beginning. I've attached a model that shows what I mean. Its hard to how it on screen shots, but I've mnade a few scenes in the model to show it pretty quick I think, Chris twisting.skp

Yeah, there is lots of functionality that can be built in or left out depending on how the creator does it for sure! Chris

Great Components Digby. It would be cool if I could interface with the stairs also by scaling them. That would make them a little easier to place and then scale them as desired to fit my gap. Really cool though, and it worked perfectly! Chris

Huh, I tried to duplicate but couldn't. If I make the parent component x=0 then that component stays put on the world x=0 axis. Then if I make the subcomponent x=parent!x (which is =0), then the subcomponentalso stays put on the zero of te parent, which is stuck to the zero of the real world. So far I haven't seen aynthing fishy. Do you have a component to check out that's doing this? Chris EDIT: I should be more clear. I have had issues with something along these lines in a component I was working on. But its not quite the same problem. So I do have a feeling there is something possibly screwy with how position is happening, I just can't duplicate your experience yet.

Yeah. There are two ways actually (right clicking and saving as - with the rb extension - is the easier). The cut and paste method is used when you actually open the script (which is a simple tet file actually) in your browser. THEN select all (Ctrl+A) and cut (or rather copy: Ctrl+C) and pate it into a simple text editor like Notepad (never World or such). Now you can save it (with the rb extension ) in your Plugin foler. It is actually a good routine to have look into the script as well since many authors provide a simple explanation inside - sometimes very important info like if other scripts are needed to run a particular plugin.

Hi Guys, it is a known bug in SU. It is also noticeable when you use images with transparent parts although then the method to paint the back face seems to help. I am also "investigating" this for a proper bug report. It doesn't seem to always behave the same way - I for instance have a model of a church and when I look through the windows, all the opposite walls are "transparent" (like in your image) but the pillars (nested components) inside, supporting the vaulting, are not. Yes,definitely annoying. If you don't mind,I am moving this topic to the Sketchup > Bug reports subforum.

You guys are great. Thank you so much. I've got it cracked now (I won't say who's method I used in case I upset anyone, but you all helped!) Thanks again

I have a script which I used in V6, and since loading V7 it has stopped working properly, and I was trying to run it in the console to see if I could find out where it was breaking.

Hi folks. A follow-up with the cylinder. I made my test with hiden geometry hidden. If hidden geometry is visible, the result is as it was with the cube. Sliding the Section plane toward the cylinder axis, will create more facets outside the group and remove them from the cylinder inside the group. This can be verified with the statistics. Just ideas.

Rather buy the Smustard plugin, it pays for itself by the second time you need to use it.
