Hello salvuzzo. When you say "i cannot visualize the model with his texture, but jus as meseh surface, is it normal?" Do you mean that you only see the model as a "wirefame"? In general I find it quicker to navigate around my models in Kerkythea using the wireframe view, but sometimes I have to check the model to see where the heck I am. To view the model as "shaded with textures"(KT calls it "solid rendering"), Go to VIEW> ADJUST> and choose "SOLID RENDERING"(your other choices are Point Cloud Rendering,Wireframe Rendering,Mixed Rendering and Hidden Line Removal. I believe all of these have to do with your "screen view" or how you see the model BEFORE your finished render). This should change the screen view to solid view of your model... I find this screen view slows down KT alot for for me on my old Mac. Too bad KT does not have "Shaded" or just "Monochrome" views as choices. I usually use KT for quick renders(I'm still trying to figure out all the awesome lighting features,HDRI and rendering choices),but the neat thing I found is that when KT opens up the model, it uses the last view you had in SU when you exported it. I usually set up my camera view in SketchUp before I export my model since I find it and more intuitive to move around in SU than KT. By the way if you are thinking of adding lights to your model, it is best to do so in SU and not in KT(at least at first). It is really cool how the "point lights" snap to a surface(I wish some of my other 3D programs could do that). If you add the lights, this will disable the "SUN" in KT by default... so if your lights are not bright enough you might see the scene as being too dim. Just keep experimenting until you find the right intensity for your scene. Good luck! ![A model in "Wireframe" view.](/uploads/imported_attachments/DJTT_Picture1.png "A model in "Wireframe" view.") ![The same model in "Solid Rendering" view.](/uploads/imported_attachments/2Cyj_Picture2.png "The same model in "Solid Rendering" view.")

Default Lights are not related to the V-Ray Sun. In order to get the V-Ray Sun you must enable GI under Environment and ensure that it's map is Sun/Sky.

Is this rendering plugin no longer a viable option with SU8? Or have I simply "installed" it incorrectly?

There are a number of causes for this. Most common appear to be materials. I'd advice you to check out the ASGVis forum where you will find a sticky that describes how to get hold of the error log. Then you can submit that error log and model to ASGVis support. Just in case you have come across a new issue.

When the error message popped up telling you that you had already activated a demo license, it should also have told you to send an email with the request code. Please follow those instructions, it's the only way you're ever going to get it to work properly.

will surely upload my model......no i didn't check the messages .. the grass material was itself already in the sketchup material library.. it wasn't loaded from anywhere else... i mean any external jpeg images..has anyone experienced a problem where the alpha channels for transparency load into sketchup but don't show in the renders?? this file maybe got corrupt because the flowers showed up in render when i copy pasted them into a new untitled file

You're using parallel perspective. VfSU doesn't work well with that. At least not with physical camera. I remember people talking about various ways to do this, but I don't know what they did. I never had to use parallel projections. The ASGVis forum should have a few posts on this.

Hi, Another member, oli, recently did an extensive/exhaustive test with Twilight on this subject. Some of his final renders are amazing and deserves to be read. I know it's not VRay but his experience and suggestion might help? Click here [image: file.php?id=3071] @oli: Hope you don't mind?

Modo's render engine isn't bad, far from it. Certainly not given its price. However, it's no match for Vray or Maxwell. Have a look at the gallery over at Luxology.com. Not that many great looking interior renders in there. There's a handful, certainly, but those came into being, I'm sure, at the expense of very high render times. While I quite like Modo's renderer, I wouldn't mind an extra option.

Every length unit in VfSU refer to inches. Displacement multiplier for instance 1.0 = 1 inch. Override focal distance - inches.

You must use the VrImage to .exr tool found on ASGVis website, then open the .exr in an image editor and resave in the format you want.

Hi Chris, Although I don't mind you posting your question here at the SCF, I do suggest that you make a search at the KT Forum, where I'm sure you can easily find answers to most (if not all) of your questions...
