Resuming Rendering from the Last Session ?? Any trick??
-
I'm using vrfsu version 1.05.3......Okay what is VrImage will somebody tell me?? And is there a facility in VRAY for su in any version that i can render a part of my view in 1 hr....save it and then render the remaining portion another day ........then save my session......then render the remaining part another day??? I mean just like Download Accelerator plus gives us the facility of broken downloading is there a facility for broken rendering that we are able to resume from the last session??

There's a power problem in India...i.e. there are frequent power breakdowns during summers...Some renders can take 8 to 10 hrs. Suppose if i start rendering a scene and go somewhere and return after 6 hrs. only to find that my pc has restarted since there was a power breakdown during the render.....I know that i should use a power backup .....but is there a facility in SketchUp or vray itself??

You can only pause animation renders in Vray and only between frames. No pausing capabilities for mid render stop and start. I believe, Kerkythea, Twilight, Maxwell, Thea & Fryrender all have pausing capabilities.

What you could do, to reduce the time when you need to re-render is to make V-Ray save your Lightcache and Irradiance maps. So if you need to restart, then you can use the IR and LC maps stored from the previous attempt - saving some processing time.

i am all too aware of this problem when i was back in india...
i found the best way to overcome this was to use unbiased render engines like maxwell or even the new thea could work..
u can save out a thea image and then render from the point it was saved again.. -

But does that help for situations where power is abruptly cut?
-
i believe it will.. only if u remember to save out the thea image at regular intervals.. maybe this should be asked as a feature.. for incremental saving of the thea image...
