      Hey All,

I've been experiencing a strange phenomenon in my renderings where the sun is set up and the settings are correct but in the final render the shadows and sun do not show up. I am currently working in SKP v. 7.1.6860 w/ V-ray v. 01.05.30. I think it might be important to note that the file sizes I have been working in are rather large ranging between 24 and 60 mb. I have noticed that in the smaller files the sun and shadows work just fine but not in the large files. I have been using the standard ASGvis setting gi_irmap_medium.visopt. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the Environment section - does GI have the Sky map assigned?

It was my understanding that a GI map was not necessary for the Vray sun.I may be misunderstanding your question, GI is checked in the environment tab. Also in the global switches tab I have the Default Lights enabled.

Default Lights are not related to the V-Ray Sun.

In order to get the V-Ray Sun you must enable GI under Environment and ensure that it's map is Sun/Sky.
