You can purchase a SketchUp exporter that takes your file and saves it to a Vue file. THen Vue opens it and you can use it in Vue. You can add trees and plants in Vue, or whatever you want to do in Vue. Then render. If you don't want to pay for the plugin, you can also export from SU as a .obj file, then open that in Vue and it comes in fairly well much of the time. Chris

True. @unknownuser said: Ge.tt is entitled to delete files which have not been accessed for a longer period of time. However, this deletion shall only take place after minimum 30 days have passed since the end of the last download. If a file has not been accessed for download, the minimum storage period of 30 days shall being with the completion of upload. Too bad. I have seen expired download links to texture packs and similar. It is cool for quick sharing/sending however.

I think you can adjust that if you go into Camera and adjust the colour filter. (Or what that property was called...)

I have the same problem. I've checked there are no hidden objects. I've also exploded all the components so there are no component origins in random places to confuse things. I've also purged all unused geometry, components and layers. Still no joy. Any ideas?

@thomthom said: You must run the installer and specify SketchUp 8 when it asks for the path to SketchUp. Thats what I though, but nothing came up, i'll re-install.

.95 is not the latest. .96 is the latest beta build, .89 is the latest public build. ASGVis want beta testers (and you agreed to this when you signed up) to only post regarding beta builds in the ASGVis beta forum. This is so they can investigate the issues and correct them. For general info about VfSU and displacement check out the sticky thread at this forum section. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=322&t=28593 I'm closing this thread. PM me if you have any further questions.

@thomthom said: I think the current public build .89 isn't working well on OSX. But there is a beta that should be working. If you feel comfortable testing a beta I think you can still sign up. right. Ok thanks TT

@d12dozr said: About navigating in a 3D PDF, I find those controls to work great for a looking at one part like that motor, but not as well for walking through a house. I'm guessing those controls are part of the Adobe PDF reader, but something like the Walkaround tool in Sketchup would be nice for navigating larger PDF's. Our aim in SimLab Composer is to make the model designer in control of the animation. The designer, selects the cameras to be included, and selects if they are animated or not. The camera can move along a path or it can automatically switch from one room to another. If the file recipient wants to investigate a view more, he can take control of the current view, after that usually he switches control back to the animation. The idea simply is to make the designer control the animation, I hope that this helps.

Adam You are right but for the in-a-hurry Architect it does seem to fill a needed niche. Quick and dirty to get up and running and a no brainer to setup and output. Of course apps like your LightUP will do more and better but are not always needed for the Client et all in the Design Development phase of a project. Just a thought for the day. dtr

@thomthom said: @chips_007 said: First question is, is it best to use rectangular lights as the ceiling lights? A rather generic question that I can't answer. It really depend on the model and scene. That is the case with most things in rendering. @chips_007 said: Second - if yes to above, why is it when I render I keep getting a faint black apprearance to all surfaces (when I've used rectangular for ceiling) and not a nice clean, lit up looking room.... To answer any of these questions properly it'd help if you posted some exampled of what you got. There are so many things that affect each other when it comes to rendering so the more info you got the better. Also - some basic info on your settings would help as well, are you using Irradiance Map + LightCache? Or some other combo? Physical camera or not? Ok, you are going to have to bare with me as im getting used to the terminology of it all. Right, Physical camera - No. Irr Map + L.Cache, not 100% sure what it is exactly, Irr map has standard settings, L.Cache I dont know. Should I use a physical camera? better renders with this? I have attached the image, it needs work but the point im trying to get across is shown so ignore the not so perfect look of it all, I just need to work out what settings do what, best combos etc etc, then I should be on my way....hopefully.
