@durandp said: Hi, I've made a copy of a sketchup file, and I get all the previous movements. How to remove them from the new file ? I removed eveything from the timeline, but the names still appear in the movement list. Thanks in advance Just go to the Maintenance dialog box. Just click on the 'Wrench and screwdriver' button in the palette. [image: PrIX_Animator-Maintenancebutton.png] In the dialog box, use the "Purge unused" function This will remove the Sequences. Remember that Animator is based on a model analog to Sketchup. In Sketchup, if you delete a component instance, its definition is still there in the model. In Animator, Elementsyou see in the timeline are like 'instances', whereas Sequencesthat you edit with the Movement or camera Editor are like definitions, and can be removed by the Maintenance dialog box (provided there are not used in any film). Thanks much Fredo6. But please don't make this change for shapes only for me. It's a lot of work for just one person and I'm sure you have lots of other work to do. If there are other people who would benefit from this perhaps they can mention this in this message thread.

@sigasiempre said: I'm having trouble understanding how to specify a path for an object movement. I've set up some curves by slicing a cone (conic section) and want to use the as paths for an object to follow. However, these curves don't show as paths when I try to set up a movement. I've attached a file with the curves and a sphere I'm trying to animate to follow these curves. You just need to make the conic contours TRUE Sketchup curve (with TIG Weld). Then they will apear as selectable pathes in Animator. Fredo

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely, you MUST NOT quit Sketchup when Animator is started, whther you exited temporarily. This is a limitation which I'll try to resolve. Are you able to create cameras? Fredo

@xufeng, Can you check you run the latest version of Animator and LibFredo6. I tested on SU2015 (as it seems to be your version) and found no problem. [image: wFqr_XufengFollowpath.gif] Fredo Xufeng - path1 - SU2015.skp Xufeng Follow path.mov

@rich o brien said: I spend some time looking at those .animator file to see if we can implement them into animated browser embeds. Also I was hoping those files could some be imported into larger scenes to animation to objects. The .animator file is purely technical, in case something happen to the model. I was thinking also to have an animation specification file, that would be easier to build and in clear language to specify an animation by the sequences and time line (like "Object1 3.0 4.2 Rotate 90 (1, 0, 0)" for a rotation of 90 degrees around the X axi, starting at 3s and for a duration of 4.2s, applied to Object1. Not sure however if this would be useful and what we could do with it. Somehow, there is a concept of parametric composed animation, which could probably be make more generic with this approach. When you render from Animator plugin the visibility will be used, because it re-exports each animation frame. There is no option of fading the visibility in/out though. If you render same animation from Thea animation tab, then the visibility will not work. This happens, because Thea4SU does everything to convert the animation to Thea's native animation which doesn't support visibility yet.

On the beautiful new plane animation by Charlie - seems plane has a constant speed![/img] Easingis precisely there to change the speed of any movement, based on profile (Polynom, Bezier, etc...). You set the Easing for the element in the timeline, not in the Movement Editor. Fredo

The Z axis seems to be correct. I think you may be referring to the center. Screw uses the component center to position the axis of rotation. On the picture, it seems your component is symetrical along the Z axis. So if the translation direction is the Z axis, then it should screw normally. Anyway, the best would be to post your model, so that I can have a closer look. Fredo

Hi Please find attached , a short tutorial to show how to do an assembly / disassembly animation with ANIMATOR. On the basis of a mounted assembly consisting of groups, 1 - Moves the objects in the disassembly order 2 - make à raz ( timeline to 0) 3 - Save the ANIMATOR sequence 4 - Choose "Play the clip From End to Start" 5 - Start the animation and ... miracle, the job is done! Click on images to animate[/highlight:2g2lmq7k] Recall: A click suspends an animation - a double click restart.
