I am relatively new to Sketchup 6, and have a problem I apparently
created without even knowing how I did it.

I created a simple window component. But when the component
got placed in the Components menu it shows up
'laying down', (on the windows blue axis). Now when I try to
place it on to a face it is orientated horizontaly, instead.
I thought I was careful telling the 'glue-to' to be 'any'.
Maybe that was my error. The question is how do I fix this
    frustrating situation?

You can right click on a component's thumbnail in the dialogue and choose "Properties" (or choose the edit tab) to edit it. There you can change its guing options, too.

Also, if you have any problem with the component axes, by right clicking a component, you can choose "Change axes" if you need to change them.

BTW I am moving this topic for the "Component forum" is meant for sharing components...
