Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Great help guys, I got them working now. This is a pretty good ap. considering how SU can barely handle 3D vegetation. I know xfrog can work but that still kills most computers. THanks again

after reading your posts i did some experimenting and it turns out that i must have selected all then hide while inside the group. wierd, i wouldn't expect it to work that way. thanks for the replies, that could've caught me again down the road cause i had no idea why it happened.

@caddict said: Look forward to trying out that add-on! I often build the basic house structure in a cad app, simply because it's easier to build walls, make openings, etc...then move it over to SU. It's ready to try - See: RpWallMaker

Another way in Renditioner is to simply set the image size how you would like it. Open image controls and make the render 4000 x 800 pixels, for example, and it uses those dimensions calculating from the center of the viewport.

Yes thanks, a glitch is the word I was looking for. To fix it I deleted the styles folder from "C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Styles" then reran SU7 setup and chose the repair option. This worked fine though I didnt have a lot of custom styles so didnt need to worry about loosing them. For anyone trying this do a backup of the files first. In the future if I want to copy styles I will open the folder they are located in within the styles window and drag them into a new or existing collection. The problem seems to occur when you drag and drop within windows. Must loose a link???? Cheers, David.

Feel like having gold in my hands, not knowing what to do with it. Like i said before Solo handed me a model of a labrador and this is the kind of thing i want to use to make a tut about making all the drawings needed for making this out of stone (or plaster (y-tong) first). But how do i do this? I need a print of the silhouet of the dog, this is easy (i know now) (camera, standard views, front etc) This i could use first to remove all the stone from one side, but then i need the print of the green one in the beginning of this thread. The way i thought of doing this: copy the dog, move it to the left and to the back. create a 'projection on face with faces' to the wall on the right of dog-1, create a 'projection on face with faces' to the wall in front of dog-2, (see attachment-1) select dog-2 and move it 'over' dog-1 (see attachment-2) Now i was planning to use select and intersect with model, remove everything i don't need and then unfold the drawing i would see in front and in the back of the dog, but by intersecting SU is not moving anymore. There is probably an easier way of doing this (trying to get the 2 'green' parts like mentioned earlier) but how? Ofcourse i will keep thinking about this one, but tips are welcome [image: aSfJ_dog0.jpg] [image: HOJU_dog.jpg]

Excelent, thanks, your technique worked wonderfully! I've already tried Terrain Reshaper, yes, but I had quite large terrains and it was unable to retriangulate it correctly. Thanks again!! Henrique

Well, I wouldn't call the "old" behaviour a bug but maybe a feature everyone disliked Actually, at least inferencing works/ed in changed axis mode in SU 6 as well.

I had a 3 year experience as computer graphic teacher from 1998 to 2001 with a mixed classroom of people with various handicaps. At that time we made a lot of webdesign and some 3d with Bryce 3D. Each man or woman has its own difficulties, there is not a general rule, but: I noticed that some tethraplegic students could work better with a trackball. In some cases we altered the mouse so that they could grasp it better; it is quite easy and cheap. If your man can not press well the mouse buttons, you can glue over them a small table-tennis (ping pong) ball. You also need a couple of rubber rings to put between the balls and the mouse buttons. A programable keyboboard for gamers, like the Belkin Nostromo, may work well beacuse you can split some functions over two hands: move the pointer with one hand and control the mouse buttons and wheel with the other. In the worst cases, we also used the Dragon Naturally Speaking software as help to input voice commands. Sorry for my bad English, I hope I didn't use rough or rude terms.

Hi Brettina, These dialogs sometimes get stuk behind (or even under) the main SU window. You can try to make the SU window smaller (don't "minimize to tray" though) and move it around the screen to see if it's behind. If you cannot find it, try the following instructions.
