Make it a component and save it to a component collection, then select and place it from the component panel whenever you need it.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

With a lot of crashes you can try to copy the wheel in a new Sketchup instance by using paste in place. Work in there without the whole model and copy it back. ( delete the old one ) Maybe you can reduce the crashes...works a lot better. Just a try

Thanks Rich, Techdave, and DaveR. After posting and thinking about it some more, I thought oh well let this stand as an admonishment to others in the interest of good methods. I will read the Sketchup Help stuff on Layers again. Still, white jacket, room with soft surfaces, delirious happiness?

Thanks pbacot. I looked into trying to make the walls and floors of the modules into solid groups in order to use the outer shell tool. But I couldn't make them solid. I assumed it was because I had gluey cutting windows and doors nested into the walls. Does that sound right?

@olishea said: My logitech rbq124 does this. I have to use the side scroll wheel. I've got used to it now, but it really annoyed me. Changed all the settings, set orbit to middle mouse button to no avail. I changed settings in both SU and mac system preferences but nothing worked. Orbit on that mouse works OK for me. If you are not too habituated to what you have now you could try once again... On the Scroll Wheel setup, choose one of the start modes of SmartShift other than 'shift manually between modes' as shift manually uses Scroll Wheel Button. Scroll Wheel Button arrows will no longer be greyed out and you can choose middle click. . [image: ocpr_018.png] [image: dsbH_019.png]

Also you seem to have some "reversed faces" - fix those too...

Rich's tutorial is excellent and it'll get you on your way. I do the first part a little differently when I create new textures. I create faces in the model on which to paint the images. Then I import the images with File>Import and paint them onto those faces. My textures are almost never square images. I know lengths of them but the widths are generally arbitrary so the rectangles I draw are to the lengths of the textures but random in width. I wind up with something like this in the model. [image: mats5_xl.png] After the textures are in the model I save them by dragging the thumbnails from In Model to a destination library as Rich showed.

Ah... You didn't specify all that before. I don't know of anything that's going to give you all of that info automatically.

Solved!!! I just tried inserting with the "inch" unit rather than the "mm". I was thinking that If I change the unit in CAD to mm and scale the object accordingly. It will be imported with the same mm unit. This model is probably modeled in the inch unit (Im guessing). I tried bringing back the unit to inch in autocad and inserted with the inch unit in the import option (though Im in mm unit in SKP) The size matched very well and the model is no longer broken. Thanks everyone for your input.

I was troubling with the same issue, but I've found that it was not arise from driver update. By erasing SectionCutFace plugin the problem was resolved. You may try to examine what plugin cause this.

If you want to try these. Might be a combination of the two. Use follow-me-and-Keep plugin on the the profile and center line. make the profile wider than the road at any point. Then drape the road edges (or intersect).

Thank you all!!! Incredible how you guys respond... @Gilles: Will take a look at it today. Thanks. @Box: Very helpfull, will take a look at what you mentioned: "You probably need to learn how the inferencing system works and how components separate and allow you to repeat geometry." I'll try and find some tutorials on the inferencing system... @pbacot: By a layer I meant just one part of the closet, for examle one side... I'll let you alle know how I proceed using all advices... Again, thanks!

Yeah, it's not going to work the same way... but you can still create keyboard shortcuts for frequently used tools. Myself I have 3 screens and I'm in love with toolbars. I want a toolbar for everything... EVERYTHING!
