Yes. LayOut has been available for longer than 30 days. The first version was released in 2008. Sometime shortly after Google purchased SketchUp in March of 2006 they changed the trial period from 8 hours to 30 days and in January 2007 began offering a free version of SketchUp. That free version started with a 30-day trial of pro with all of the available features of SketchUp Pro. When LayOut was introduced it was included as part of the Pro trial and that continued up until the point at which they stop offering SketchUp 2017 Make about two years ago.

What problem? In any case, if you installed SketchUp Make on a new computer you would have started with another 30-day trial period of Pro and thus you would have had access to LayOut during that time.

That's fine. The subscription will give you SketchUp Pro, LayOut, SketchUp Go (web-based), SketchUp for iPad and a bunch of other options.

Someone from the SketchUp team will likely see this thread. I expect at this point the bean counters and marketing people have run the numbers enough to have a good idea of what will actually work to pay the bills and keep the shareholders happy.
