Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Yeah NTX! Sometimes one needs to review their workflow in detail, and it's a little much to ruminate on the forums.

Or use the eraser while holding shift to hide edges or ctrl to soften edges.

@elmer said: Well, I must apologize if I’m making things confused and convoluted to some, but they may not have read that other great thread: https://forums.sketchup.com/t/an-open-letter-to-trimble/87510?u=chippwalters and this one too: https://forums.sketchup.com/t/open-letter/88172 And yes, I am one of those old fart who think that the planet would be much better off if we weren't in a frenzy of consumption, always upgrading and trying to go desperately faster! Many softwares kindly offer a small checkbox to untick if you don't want to see the home screen appear at each new opening. I feel like an intrusive injonction the way the SketchUp Make starting screen ask me to say hello! Sorry to point it out, but it was not like that with Google SketchUp Free True also that being retired gives us plenty of time to complain and moan a little bit about the way things are going..... . Hi Elmer, no apologies required And reasonable complaints, but alas that seems to be the way things are going. Main thing is we have had years of Sketchup being owned by google that had a different objective, not entirely commercial. Unfortunately we will have to get used to Trimble or move on. I am not sure Trimble is reading the market correctly, but I may be wrong.

Resolved. Thank you thank you thank you @anton_s said: tecnozati, Yeah, the docs do not have enough coding examples. But I intended to fix that someday. To get the position of a servo joint from a script field, you will first need to know the name/id of the joint, which is displayed in UI when you select the joint. Then you can write the following code: > onStart { > @j = simulation.find_joint_by_name("569422") > } > > onTick { > # Set desired angle > if (key(' ') == 1) > @j.controller = 100.degrees > else > @j.controller = 0 > end > > # Get current angle > simulation.log_line @j.cur_angle.radians > } > You can refer to servo docs for more functionality: https://www.rubydoc.info/github/AntonSynytsia/MSPhysics/MSPhysics/Servo Anton

I can think of two possibilities: The mouse is not configured to send the event SketchUp expects when you press the scroll wheel. There should be settings in the mouse control panel. The scroll wheel switch has failed. Try another mouse and see if it works correctly.

I found the solution. Sign in with the google sign-in method vs. the email address method. The email address method is the 'default' method since the field has the blinking cursor in it.

Thanks! I DID run without plugins and stripped down whatever I could, running a generic template file (then that file was added to my files that reload each time!) I would guess this is related to upgrading to High Sierra but it didn't happen until 2 weeks after that. So I decided, heck, finish the job and go to Mojave OS. Then that didn't help so I went to SU 2019. And after hanging on the first try, that looks pretty good. Now despite some crashes, 2016 closes OK... sometimes... after all that, what, can it heal itself??? After 3 years (versions) I have to say there ARE some nice changes piled up that look good for the Mac. AA is good now, it does seem a little snappier and smoother, and crashed files will not be loaded on restart supposedly. And they made it for Mojave. I like that they finally made the extensions manager into a sensible dialog window-- though after loading Sketchucation Tools I don't look at it much again.

Had another go at this. Used the process I outlined in previous post. Draw around an imported image for the deer and then just free hand drew the trees. Doesn't take as long as it would seem... think I mucked about with the texture longer than modeling the thing...... it's a little more in the style of the O.P.'s original image. You need to copy the first viewport. If you use Copy and Paste, the new viewport will paste on top of the previous one. You can also copy a viewport by holding Ctrl (Option on Mac) while dragging the viewport.

I am using this in work and it's working really well without error for many months now. Data prep is more of an issue for more complex models I am bringing in from places like Delatgen and Catia, SketchUp however is the easiest of the bunch. You do need SketchUp Pro to make it work however and I havent' yet tried it on SU2019.
