Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

I'm afraid TT's 'Groups to Components' plugin wont work for this application due to transformations made to the groups - windows rotated to each side of the house. You may have better luck with S4u's s4u_toComponents http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=484308#p484308 It is $20, but worth it if you're doing professional work...(if your working with archicad then you're doing professional work). I even use it in place of SU's native create component command...it's much faster, if you don't need the dialog...which you only generally need if you're making a cutting or follow me component. (I work with Archicad exports...so I feel your pain...)

I figured it out I hope! when I put the little hooked pointer right on the endpoint I get the 'Enter Text', but when I move the little pointer to the right of the endpoit just a bit it works as it should you can't see the little pointer in this s shot but it's just to the right. Of course SketchUp doesn't come with any fonts. It uses the fonts included on the system. If you still have the installer file you could try installing SketchUp again but I wouldn't hold my breath. Keep in mind that SketchUp 2015 doesn't support High Sierra. It was released almost three years after SU2015.

There's no option to add fill in a label in SketchUp.

@lauraforschool said: @jean lemire said: Hi folks. See this in SU help: http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=95030 Just ideas. The page could not be opened. No. It wouldn't. The post is over nine years old. Google sold SketchUp more than six years ago and so links have changed. You could access the current help files through the Help menu in SketchUp. You might look at this page to start with.

@baz said: Check Preferences/Open GL. And see if the settings are different... I switched that around some and didn't see anything. I didn't do a side by side comparison though. One thing that is new is that Mac now has AA settings built-in. They don't seem to affect this... maybe a little, because the lines are cleaner.

@dave r said: Enjoy your GOT and sleep. I've never seen the former and only see the latter once in awhile. Ok, traced in LO and got a good result. Have to consider this a workaround tho'. And a bit of a pain as easy to miss endpoints in LO. (No option to toggle endpoints) Thanks for the help Dave. Cheers.

@skavan said: don't understand the benefit of converting it to a Catmull Spline - perhaps Dave R can explain...and when I did it, I noticed some funny loops, so I performed this procedure without that step. The Catmull spline created a smoother curve. In your example you have straight runs of tiles along the longer straight segments and then a more severe angle when the next segment comes along. With the smoother curve I created, more tiles get tapered but that'll likely be more realistic. As long as you are satisfied with what you've got, that's fine. As for the "funny loops", I'm not sure what that's about. I didn't see any when I did it.

@pbacot said: Yes, Mike but it happens in this case a lot and I am pretry goood at typoiing otherwise. Sorry. That made me laugh. @pbacot said: It's possible typing "s" afterward helps some of the time. "s" shouldn't be necessary in Entity Info. It used to be required if you were making the adjustment before drawing a circle but it isn't anymore. When you are changing the setting in Entity Info, are you selecting the existing number and then just overtyping? Or are you selecting the existing value and deleting it before typing the new number?

That particular extension was withdrawn by its author, after there was a copyright infringement notice issued via Google - it seemed spurious, but it still seems unresolved. You could try a direct PM to the author [SDMitch] ?

I'd like to see an example file that shows the problem you are having. i frequently adjust the stretch geometry with the Move tool and infer to entities outside the current group or component with no problem.
