Yes this has been around since the @last days. I only come across it when I've inserted a siteplan or similar from AutoCad. It used to be reported as a bug a lot, but I guess it's been grandfathered in as something that can't be fixed? Or maybe it just keeps being put on the "next time" list.

Dave R Sorry about the missunderstanding. I personally don`t have Sketchup Pro and this issue is more work related (were I use Pro) than personal. Ive used the move tool a lot and didnt found it difficult to use, but also found the locking Z axis trick. The difference is quite noticeable, especially when time, speed and accuracy are crucial. Thank you very much for your answers! cotty I know that method but Im afraid that it would not help me much, only if I can change the attributes for multiple selected components (wich I quess doesnt work). If not, it`s not worth the effort, in comparison with the move tool option. Thanks for the answer.

The only legitimate source for SketchUp no matter what version and the link you referenced earlier shows the only versions they are making available. If you have the original file downloaded and you are worried about needing to reinstall it, you ought to save a copy of the file somewhere safe.

Same happens to me. I click it until it lets me open it. Usually about three times. As for the recursively creating skb files, I have found out that SUSOLIDS makes it worse. After I removed the plugin that didn't happened that much.

I expect you'll find that people do different things but for standard types of construction, I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense to draw entire structures with all that detail. Nick uses "canned" representative illustrations for those sorts of things. You should consider the time you'd have invested in placing all those entities and the return on that investment.

I messed about in terminal but couldn't get it to work so I downloaded this tiny service app: 1 - Download SymbolicLinker: http://seiryu.home.comcast.net/~seiryu/symboliclinker.html 2 - Mount the dmg file and copy the .services file into your (Mac HD)/Library/Services (if its not there add it) 3 - Open the SymbolicLinker.services file from the folder you just copied it into 4 - Navigate to your server or dropbox or second hard drive - wherever you store your materials collection 5 - right click on your materials folder and at the bottom there will be a new option saying "create symbolic link" 6 - now select the new symbolic link it just made and copy it 7 - Navigate into your sketchup folders ~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2015/SketchUp/ if you can't see it use; finder->go->go to folder and copy that in and press enter 8 - delete the sketchup materials folder (OR RENAME IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE DEFAULT MATERIALS) - I've already collected these into my custom folder anyway so I just deleted them. 9 - paste (your symbolic link) and rename to "Materials" All Done! Can do the same for style and components, you can also use these instructions to store other folders on a second drive if you use an SSD.

Well, I've found a solution (hopefully). It's the one I was hoping to avoid. Tomorrow I will receive a new SSD from Amazon, a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB. I'm hoping that installing everything from scratch will make everything all better. I just can't understand why my backup computer and my laptop, neither of which have the 2015 update installed, have not experienced any problems. Anyhow, tomorrow the fun begins . I'll post the results here on the off-chance that anybody cares

It should show progress of the RBZ files in the status-bar. If you have the Ruby Console open are there any error-messages ? Can you do an Update or add a new Plugin using AutoInstall ? Is there anything unusual about your SketchUp set up, or user-name etc... What do you get if you try this + <enter> in the Ruby Console. SCF::PLUGINS
