    • RE: Component attributes

      Sorry about the missunderstanding.

I personally don`t have Sketchup Pro and this issue is more work related (were I use Pro) than personal.

Ive used the move tool a lot and didnt found it difficult to use, but also found the locking Z axis trick.
The difference is quite noticeable, especially when time, speed and accuracy are crucial.

Thank you very much for your answers!

I know that method but Im afraid that it would not help me much, only if I can change the attributes for multiple selected components (wich I quess doesnt work).
If not, it`s not worth the effort, in comparison with the move tool option.

      Thanks for the answer.

      Many thanks!

Ive tried the gluing solution but had some problems. The object converted to component with horizontal glue is not gluing to the horizontal plane. Only if I drag the newly created component from the components window, that object will be glued. Thats weird and don`t know why it behaves like that.

The move tool was always an option, but I thought having the objects locked would simplify everything. If an "intelligent attribute" cannot be added then I`ll remain with the traditional alternatives.

Many thanks for the quick response

      Hello community!

Im having a problem and cant find a solution (if there`s one).

The problem is that I`m creating an layout with furniture for different types of rooms and in order to make it more easier to move it around without worrying that it could change the position on Z axis I want to add an (intelligent) attribute that locks the components on Z axis.

Locking the objects is not a problem, but if I want to move the furniture to another floor level, it will always fall at 0 or whatever the value I added to the Z axis position.

It is possible to add such an attribue that will allow me to copy the locked object to another height (Z position) and to be still locked but at that different height?

Hope I`m not dreaming big and my questions are not absurd.

      Any help is much appreciated.
      Many thanks in advance!
