But still i dont get why vray is so problematic dealing with these surfaces. Hell, not even a 640x480 render can be done.
You're using the demo. I've done the best I can to teach you how to make your rendering look the way you want it. Good luck in your efforts.
No , im not.
And i thank you for your help, but again, the main problem is the time it takes. Of course you understand, i am not willing to wait days to render just that.. (nor i have the time, nor im willing to).
Open your Light Cache drop-down in your V-Ray Options Editor and check the box to turn on "Raytrace threshold". That should solve your issue.

Hi Robeana
In the beginning don't try and fiddle with the settings , just too complicated to start off with
Go on to sketchuptexture.com and download their presettings ie visopt.
Import this into your settings and start from there.
If the above is still confusing let me know and we take it a bit slower.
I know how you feel , I am very much a beginner as well but after 6 months worth
of frustration I might help you to avoid my mistakes.
Let me know
You can only use V-Ray in one version of Sketchup at a time. So if you have it installed for SU2013 you'll have to un-install it get the V-Ray installer for SU2015 and re-install it for 2015.
As a matter of fact, our eyes (mind) works differently from photos or computers. i.e light attenuation is based on inverse square ratio, but when one adjusts them in this way will find it more like what a camera captures and not what our eyes captures. So I've experienced that it will give a better result if adjust the attenuation as "inverse". the result will be more smooth and less contrast ,a better solution for interiors. and do not neglect some fake lighting using rectangular lights, here and there ... .

Yeah, hard to give you a good answer...
I have tried many sketchup renders : kerkythea, podium, maxwell, twilight, lumion, v-ray...
They are all fine, but i prefer v-ray. I have the feeling that i can more control my architectural renders. But parameters are complex. Podium and Kerkythea are easier to handle.
Besides, Kerkythea is free.

How are you bringing in your old plugins for 2014? When I went to 2015 I had to fresh install everything. No copy and pasting from the Plugins folder, that was too messy. Fresh install every plugin from the Extension Warehouse and the SketchUcation toolbar. Its painful at first but a good clean way to start with 2015.
valerostudio, what you say is right.
Oy, a bug!
Glad I could help. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Unfortunately, you sir, have found a bug. I've logged the issue and it will eventually be resolved in future versions of V-Ray For SketchUp. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
A way to quickly cheat if the terrain clipper tool doesn't work, is to lift one surface off of the other by a half inch or so. At that distance and scale you shouldn't be able to see the edge either.
