You should be able to set default text style, but for some reason your fonts are not being picked up. I'd follow up as others suggested: create an RTF document in TextEdit on both Macs and make sure it works there. You can even embed the RTF documents in LayOut so updating them will get updated in the LayOut document. File->Insert. Changing font face on multiple text objects with multiple font sizes may lead to some surprising results, and I have a bug filed on this a while back. The workaround, if you can do it, is to put the text in one text object or in a single RTF file. b

And of course you can do hybrid components; import stuff drawn in SU, explode them and then edit the resulting LO lines before saving as a scrapbook.

It won't automatically make dashed lines. You have to set them to be dashed. You didn't ask but if the section view is coming from SketchUp, explode it and then change the desired edges to dashed lines.

Use the one-shot sample tool to set the style. While in the dimension tool, find a dimension that is set correctly, and type "s". The cursor changes to an eye dropper. Click on the dimension that is set correctly, and now your dimensions have their style set correctly. b

I have found. just pop the angular dimensions in Layout to make them visible to DXF

Insert the first model where you want it on the page. Then put something like a + (2 lines crossing each other and grouped (doesn't matter what you draw)) on a shared layer so that you can see the + on every page. Move the + using precise move to some point on your model. Then add a new page and insert your next model. Using precise move, move the model to line up with the +.

It could be a couple of things. First, if you saved your file but didn't update your scene, then came back later and did, things would jump. Second, a change we added in 3.0 M1 (release 3.0.4810 / 4811) is that when you edit a model in LayOut, the scene gets marked modified AND turns OFF "Preserve Scale". If we didn't do this, you'd edit your model, get it set up, exit, then the model would jump (because of the scale). Lastly, there are some instances where http://sketchup.google.com/3dwh/buildingmaker.html buildings would make a scene jump, and it has to do with reconciling 2D and 3D cameras. But that doesn't sound like your case. Do either of the first two choices fit? b

Also note that vector rendering will not render your image textures but colours instead. If you want sharp, vector based edges but with textures, use hybrid rendering. That's also the slowest I think however.
