RE: Text Symbols
@dave r said:
Are you trying to add these symbols to the text in a LayOut document? If so, you can add those characters (if the chosen font includes them) via Character Map under Windows>Accessories. Many of the characters can be typed by holding Alt and typing a 4-digit number on the numeric keypad. For example a degree symbol (°) is typed by holding Alt and typing 0176.
"...via Character Map under Windows>Accessories."
I do not see this under the Layout Window menu; is it not inside the program Layout?. I did use the four digit code to get the result. Where are these codes located for quick reference?

can't you?
import title block into sketchup...
insert sketchup model of title block into layout.
switch to vector mode...
explode...
add to title block layer...
This is great, but how do you import the title block with text? I loose all text when importing .dwg to SU.

Draw order
I wish to place components on top each other without the lower components showing or mixing into the upper components. Any Suggestions?
I did a work around but am still looking for a Draw Order similar to ACAD's.

Could you give more detail as to what your roof looks like?
There's a standard Top view that you can select. You could also select a face, right click and choose Align View. As Toby mentions, you can st the camera to Parallel Projection if needed.
Align View did the trick, Thanks.
There will be less questions as I continue to learn.

Scenes
While Creating Scenes, I am attempting to view the plan view of a roof plane. Is there a way to select the face of a roof and view it as the flat plane?

RE: Multiple Element Roofing Shingle Dynamic Component

I think it might help if you attach a .skp which has all the individual components in there and shows their arrangement when assembled.
I have loaded a file as Requested. The additional shapes are typical and non typical roof shapes that the shingle block would fit into. The thing here is that the shingles will not necessarily need to fit into all of the corners like a material but will have to be able to not only fill a square or rectangle but also smart enough to fill the odd shapes as well. It has to be a complete unit to the nearest whole number of shingles. If there is only one row, then there will not be any jumpers. If there is only two rows then there would only be one jumper. The shingles and jumpers are the only pieces that will multiply. The Start (bottom right) and end (top left) pieces will remain as is at the start and end. This block has to be able to be installed reversed/mirrored as well.
Thanks, Darren
