Dear Pilou and Dolphus, Thank you for your kind words. The final modelling was done in Autodesk's Inventor, but by then I knew exactly what I wanted to draw and so that part went very quickly. Pilou, I didn't know about your plugin fragmentation. It looks very useful. Is there an English version too? Kind regards, Bob

@dspace said: @micheladam3 said: @dspace said: One last practice with a couple of Kare and others as well. hello despace, my name is Helena Michel. Some of models come from 3D warehouse indeed and you can do what you want with them. I'm glad that students can learn with my ideas. this is the reason why I posted them to 3D warehouse. As for your last images I didn't want to share with anybody. This is my project for client and I would have apreciated if you had asked me before starting to play with them and show them on any kind of forum. Anyway I don't think your design is better then mine, so what's the point? Helena Hi Helena, I'm sorry if you find learning your stuffs offensive. In fact I'm just a great fan of your work. I would have done anybody's stuffs eg. Frank Lloyd Wright etc etc..I don't think it would be a problem. If your images are confidential than don't post it anywhere in the web...students always have their rights and ways to learn. I don't find learning my 3D warehouse staff offensive. 3D warehouse is to share with others. What I find offensive is when somebody take my design ideas stright from my portfolio. Thanks for having deleted images which I didn't want to be the object of amusement. Your renderings are good, despace. My advice for now (if I can affort) is to start modeling and rendering your own design. You will see, it comes very fast. I'm sure you will find more fun rendering your own staff. Belive in yourself. Helena

I think you did a great job when rendering is concern. Without pp the images are little on the dark side. Keep up the good work.

I like the First an 4th ones too. Hey was the scene in number 4 mirrored? The text on the car is backwards. Yout tag says "1985". Wow, I dont think Sketchup was around that long what's the story? These are really nice though. Awesome actually.

Love it, especially the staircase. Try applying a gaussian blur on the linework level in Photoshop, it renders nicer. Keep it up!

@autarchos said: nice! the lighting and textures are so soft. it really has a good feel. not overly digital. what did you render it with? Artlantis v3 Max Settings Approx Time 35 Min @tadema said: Any tips on how you achieve the brickwork looking so realistic as yours. I've tried bump maps and never came close to your results. That was an Artlantis Shader from v1 that I modified slightly.

Thanks! My red wine version didn't turn out so well...[image: PFtq_redglass.jpg] I just tried the red one again using DOF in Kerky, first time I ever used it and I think it came out pretty well? [image: 4ZWh_reddof2.jpg]

To be honest, I think 10 trees per set sounds like sufficient variety. So if I'm interpreting the images correctly, the leaves are all face-me images? Also, how kind of computer specs do you have and how smooth do the models of the trees rotate and pan on your computer? I have an i7 computer with a Quadro FX1700 graphics card but I also have a weedy laptop that cannot handle much, which I use quite often also. Thanks! Keep us updated

@unknownuser said: Brilliant images, what are you using to get the magnification? Or are they images from an electron microscope or something like that? Oh, I use a home-made snowflake photo-microscope (aka Sketchup, Twilight render, and a tad of Photoshop) Here's a Sketchup screenie...drawn and rendered 100% by me I did roughly base it on the real thing tho.
