      A couple of Twilight Interiors NPR composites - let me know which you prefer. I will be adding some table and floor lamps, and some accessories to the shelves and table tops to get more of a "lived in" look.

          I like the 2nd style as it has a good level of detail - the first has lost detail due to the overlaid lines and the 3rd is too "fuzzy", imo. Good work πŸ˜„

              definitely number 1. the 3rd is difficult to look at- too blurry.

                These are nice. Number two looks best, IMHO. Care to share some details with regards to the rendering method you used and what the render time was?

                  All 3 images use 2 TwiR images as the base. First 1 was run @ #9 preset - left it cook overnight for 9+ hours = 82 passes. Other was a #7 preset - took 1+ hrs. to run. Then ps work to combine these with multiple overlays of su exports, mostly linework exports. Just the sun for lighting along with a physical sky. I want to start learning to use hdr's - but I am not sure how to be able to keep the well defined shadows that the sun generates.

                    If you keep "Sunlight Enabled" checked on, set the Sunlight slider to around 5, and keep Maximum Sunlight Intensity at least 5, you should get well defined shadows with an HDR.

                      Sun and HDRs are much different stuffs, changing the physical sky for a HDR would be more desirable. (As mentioned above.)
                      But disabling the sun and rendering with HDR only would be quiet a tough job (IMHO) but it can be rewarding if you can get it right.
                      But I'm a little surprise you post only NPRs after cooking for 9+ hrs.
                      Though it would be easier to make improvements from the "raw". πŸ˜„

                          Thanks everyone for the suggestions in working with HDRI - I will be experimenting more in the future.

                          My goal was to test some NPR interiors styles - so the PR versions were only ever intended as being a base. That being said - here is the PR daytime image ( 9+ hr.) that I worked from, and also a night version with Artemide Aqua Cil lamps using point lights. No pp on these 2 images.


                          Preset #9 - 34 passes = 3.5 hrs.


                          Preset #9 - 82 Passes = 9+ Hrs.

                            Without pp the images are little on the dark side.
