Thanks Dave, I took your advice and just threw everything on layer 0. Originally I did not want to do that because I thought... layer 1 was at elev 1 and layer 2000 represented elevation 2000 feet. But I noticed each "topo" line was not one number bigger or smaller to the ones next to it. So all elevation layer data from USGS had no value in their layer naming convention. So I am now making surfaces of each step and extrude all of them (all 2000!) one by one and see what I get? Then I can compare it to a really hodge podge set of separate area surface tiles I am hand stitching together, and plan to slice up the mix at the same 1 foot elevation intervals and compare the two. Unfortunately since I truly don't know what I am doing the accuracy will not be determinable, but we will see if it is good enough once we get there. Access to the Warehouses is restricted in older versions of SketchUp. But with v2017 you can download an RBZ from the EWH [you will need a [free] Trimble ID set up] or the SketchUcation PluginStore [using your membership login details, if prompted again]... Check that the selected RBZ is compatible with v2017 - some are not... Ensure that your web-browser's options are set to download RBZ file-types and NOT to 'open' them... Once you have the RBZ in your Downloads folder, use the Extension Manager dialog's 'Install...' button... Navigate to the RBZ and choose it, SketchUp should install its contents for you into your user's Plugins folder... Double-check that you installed v2017 properly... Whilst logged into Windows as you normal user-account, ensure that SketchUp is closed... Find the v2017 installer's exe file - usually in your Downloads folder ? Select that exe file's icon, right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator" When prompted choose "Repair". When it's done all file and folder permissions should have been reset correctly. Never install a complex app on Windows by double-clicking its installer's exe file icon to 'Run' it - even if your user-account has admin-powers the result will not be the same. Doing a 'Repair' like this should not affect anything you have set-up thus far... but it could fix underlying issues...

Je vous joint un fichier DAE avec lequel je n'avais pas de problème. Il y a du nouveau depuis avoir réinstaller l'image disque windows, Je me suis aperçu d'une chose lorsque j'ouvre un projet SKP et que j'importe directement un fichier DAE cela ne fonctionne pas, par contre si avant l'importation je sélectionne et désélectionne n'importe quel composant du projet alors l'importation fonctionne !

The number of segments can be correct but, if the radius of the curve is very small, each of the segments length may be below the lower limit accepted by SketchUp.

Back edges are a raster display thing so they won't show if you are rendering in Vector or Hybrid. With SU2019, you could create a scene using a style that shows the Footings layer with dashes. You'll probably want to use the Wireframe face style with the dashes. Then in LO stack viewports with the different scenes so the footings can be displayed with the dashes and the rest of the model as solid, in the other viewport. This is much easier now in LO2021 since you can use a single scene for the two viewports and control which tags are visible and which tags use dashes.

Have you tried contacting the Unity people for support?

I am running the latest version in trial mode. And managed to find a solution myself late last night. DAE is basically a text file you can edit with any text editor. I changed the material*.tif to my original JPGs and got it working.

Can you show us what you are seeing? It could be that you've turned on Back Edges. Press k again to turn them off. Or it could be that you're seeing a dashes style because you've assigned a dash style to a Layer/Tag

Your point cloud is too dense in some parts and this defeats the interpolation. I would suggest that you clean it up by discarding a few points, at least those which are very close with different altitudes. Anyway, here is the result for the simple Delaunay Triangulation.
