I've just used circle + line2tubes as you recommended. This was just try with the plugin I just downloaded, but I see it creates spaces when you try to make tube from circle.

I think the model will be extensive and will not suite GE criterions... As I understand street view project, they want the buildings to be as simple as possible. But in my project I try to do it as nice as possible. Hence my model will cost a lot of space (on disk).

As a proof that units and correct scale on the start of Match photo, I attach scaled beginner file. As I measured distances on GoogleEarth, so have almost exact data. This is almost the scale where the bridge should fit. Measured Distance according GE photo (top down view) is 6734 cm, distance from first pylon base to bush. In my model I have 7025 and I scaled the beginners model to cca 68m. [image: 1zvakp3.png] See the attachment how the scale model looks and "fits". moat_beginner2_scaled.skp

I've reinstalled ... Same as before. I also have no plugin menu. Edit: Installation file contains bug which cannot install some files into path containing unicode characters. You could not have the same problem if you installed SU into default path. Now I reinstalled into different path containing no unicode strings. Well, I am not sure if "unicode" is problem, but charset problem is 100%.

@unknownuser said: NO Stupid is never asking a question. You are just learning something new...something we all do every day. Indeed. And if you are curious, here is our "duh" thread where many experienced users also "confess" that they are still discovering SketchUp. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=17315 And don't forget to visit our "welcome" topic in this Newbie forum that says: @unknownuser said: ...In this Beginners Forum we believe, 'There are no stupid questions! Only stupid answers!', so please don't be shy about asking any questions you may have or just saying 'Hi' and telling us a little about yourself... (And that topic has a very early ID: "57" - dating back to 2007) Moreover... when I started with SketchUp, with the first free version (5) Google made available back in 2006, the image export resolution limit (in this free version) was confined to screen resolution - so essentially not much better than a screenshot. So basically speaking, your question is not as "stupid" as it seems. Other limitations (that are no longer limitations) were: no animation export, no sandbox tools for instance. Free users have access to all this now.

Gaieus, thx! I do find it curious that sometimes that point works so perfectly for me, and other times (most of the times) it doesn't.

@cmd said: selc ltd, You can also take the image you brought into the model already and drape it directly onto the geometry you have created. I quickly created a video for you showing how to do it. http://screencast.com/t/GYgECBqW Here are the steps used in the video Determine size of your patio Import your texture as an image Scale your texture to the proper size :: created a group first and then changed the size of the image within the group only Positioned the image above the patio geometry in the correct XY Exploded the image which creates a "Projected" texture Sampled the image texture from above and applied it to the selected patio geometry. As a bonus, I also used the image texture to create the patio without the individual brick edge work I hope this helps Cheers CMD Hi Cmd, Wow thank you so much for that cmd! I followed your video and I have sorted it now. On reflection I think I wasted my time building the scale model because the bit you showed at the end of the video looks a lot better than the model and only takes seconds to complete. Thank you again for your help I really appreciate it!

I've solved it by openning a new file from scratch (cmd+N). This operation makes "left click" work again. (buf!)

Make a separate cylinder inside a group, oriented as desired. It needs to be long enough to project completely through everything it needs to cut. Locate it where desired. Select the cylinder-group and the face that needs the hole. Context-menu > Intersect with Selected A line should now be cut where the cylinder-group intersected the face. Move the cylinder-group away a fixed amount along an axis [type 1111mm] Now you can see the cut. Select and Delete the unwanted face[s]. If you want to keep part of the cylinder inside the newly cut hole then move it back 1111mm. This time edit the cylinder-group and select-all, then Intersect with Model - this time the cylinder will have lines added where the other parts intersect it. To see whats happening you can either Move it away again or use the simpler View > Component Edit > Hide Rest of Model toggle, so everything else is hidden... Erase the unwanted parts of the cylinder, chances are that its curved surface will also be 'backwards' if merged into the rest of the model, so select it and context-menu Reverse. Exit the edit and now you should have what's wanted... Explode the group so it merges with the main geometry as desired... [image: 70pB_Capture.PNG]

Yes you can pick and choose what you wish to copy. It works similar to a backup program, or a 3rd-party CD Burner program. Dave is correct about the toolbar entries. The registry features of SU need some TLC, automatic cleanup etc. It's not hard to resetup the toolbars. Five mins max. Either put your old computer next to the new one for reference, or print out a screen shot. The shortcuts are kept in the registry, but as Gaieus said there is a export/import utility built-in for those. The ones you might wish to migrate, are the savings for WebDialogs or plugins. The WebDialog keys all begin with "WebDialog_" Unfortunately... there is no common prefix for plugin settings keys.

It's a tool cabinet but thanks. If you want to move the geometry inside every component that makes up the door, you'd have to open each one for editing. It's just plain old easier to select the component (blue bounding box) with a single click and rotate the component no matter how the door is constructed. And it isn't that hard to rotate each door individually.
