Thanks "Box" I went in and looked but did not find anything. however there was a group of guides that i had that had a ridiculously large bounding box around them nested withing the group I was in. i just moved the group of guides, then started a new group of the objects i was resizing -- now the bounding box is where it should be thanks!!!

Hi Wo3Dan, hi folks. I quitted SU then I changed my decimal separator from the . to the , and the list separator from the , to the ; I restarted SU and it works. I quitted SU and then I reverted back to the . and , and it still works ?!?!?! Strange. Anyway, problem solved. The help is still incorrect unless I goofed somewhere. Best regards.

@unknownuser said: @bunnyack said: b) it won't keep the original surface, so I can't archieve my goal of giving the fuselage some thickness. push the <tab> key during jpp (and a few other of fredo's tools) in order to get an options menu.. there you can pick 'thickening' for a solid offset.. Thanks Jeff, saved my day Not only did it keep both faces, it also stopped sketchup from crashing at 79%. Problem solved.

Gerrit is correct. You can't see textures on faces outside of the current context when editing a component or group.

@pbacot said: Looking back to your first post, if a flat blade is what you are after, and the edges can all be coplanar. Do your drawing on a surface, like the face of a rectangle, to help be sure it is coplanar. Make the component after you've done most of your work making the face. Yeah, I think the 2 arcs were not coplanar AND I didn't create a face. It works now. I just got to make it pretty. Thanks for everyone's help,
