Indeed, it's not good having the KT program folder inside the SU plugin. That's how usually the folders look like plugin folder (the path.txt file should be created automatically the first time you run su2kt and ask you where the kerkythea.exe file is located) [image: 4Lr0_senzatitolo1.jpg] application folder [image: kJ2r_senzatitolo2.jpg]

But the typical workflow is to first select what you want to move, then move it. Quite often you would not want the move tool to move everything connected all at once.

Hi Scott, It is completely indifferent, what layer you place things on (unless you set to "Colour by Layer). The difference lies in whether you paint the group/component as a whole, from "outside" - or paint its geometry "inside" (while editing it). Incidentally, I have a little tutorial on this here: http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/37-beginner/139-texturing-a-component-vs-its-faces-inside Now if you cannot see the grouped object receiving the material (if I understand you correctly), you may be modelling in monochrome mode. You should go to model in shaded or better shaded with textures mode (View menu > Face styles). If still no materials, there must be something wrong with your system.

Thanx Chris. I've been playing around with the shift key and it does work...sometimes. I've even gotten the control key to manipulate the poly lines...sometimes. I just can't nail down which plane they work on.Thanx again. unclegreg

@gareebee said: @dave r said: "...installed the Logitech Setpoint driver..." That's yer problem. You might be able to get into the mouse settings and change the mapping for the center mouse wheel so Zoom works. While you're at it, check the mapping on the center mouse button, too. Thanks for input, but the zoom function already works. It's the scroll wheel click that doesn't function. No mapping option I have found will return it. WTF, Logitech! I wouldn't throw out driver. I don't imagine Logitech models are that different. With Logitech MX, I have a few buttons set specifically for SU. This setup enables that orbit function on my Mac. @rose123 said: That looks very neat, will try, thanks! That looks neat? Are you kidding me? I don't think its safe or wise to stack a small end table on top of a set of drawers like that at all. Someone could easily get hurt rose, and I don't recommend trying anything like it! Oh, did you mean that toolbar layout? Oh yes, that is indeed very neat!

It depends on the nature of the geometrical data in the kmz file. Note that a kmz file is actually a renamed zip file so if you change the extension, you can see what it is. It can be two things: A kmz file containing (in a subfolder) a collada file (dae extension). In this case, you should be able to import it into SketchUp from File > Import > 3D (and select the proper file type). The geometry is described in a top level kml file - in which case you can try this plugin.

Hi Jim, Did you download it from the Ruby Depot? Here is the most up to date version and it also has an rbz format. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22091 This is an explanation how to install plugins (including that format): http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/37-beginner/108-installing-sketchup-plugins

Hi. I success Cyan pipe is group, I not create T part of pipe in that group (avoid some errors with slection etc) So I make this part separate on this group, make guide first, on that guide make circle, use push/pull tool to make cylinder, then with offset tool make another circle on top of cylinder, push/pull tool and make tube, triple click on what I make, go to Edit / and copy this object. Delete object, open grouped cyan tube and goto Edit / paste in place, right click on pasted part and select Intersect faces / with model, then delete parts that do not need. Maybe this will help some newbie like me Thank you again. [image: ZA3u_hole-done.png]

In general the alignment will require a translation and two rotations. You have speciacl case with the way the two axies are aligned ( and their circular symmetry) and where the components axis are place . Slelect the short tube start move and type [0,0,0]. That will move it to the 0,0,0 global axis location installed as Dave shows shows above

If you own the plugin SketchUV, you can use its "Path Select Tool" and get this kind of selection with one double click.

At work I use a Logitech TrackMan Wheel and I have a Space Navigator, but I'm not sure I'd equate the two. Are you wanting a new trackball only for SketchUp or for other programs too? I've never tried to use a 3D mouse for anything other than SU or Google Earth so I'm not sure if or how intuitively it will work in other programs. I could never get the hang of SketchUp with a the Navigator; maybe I don't use it properly. It seems that I couldn't do everything with the Nav that I could do with my trackball and it took my hand away from the keyboard so shortcuts became slower to use. The Navigator or one of 3dConnexion's higher-end products would probably be better for your carpal tunnel than a thumb-driven trackball though.

If you've found the Plugins Index [accessed through the SCF Resources > Plugins menu above] then you are all but there. Use your Browser's Search tool [Ctrl+F ?] and look for Curvi it WILL find it... It's by Fredo - so narrow your search to his plugins, if you are still challenged... Click on the link and it opens the tool's thread... go to the first post in that thread and there are extensive download and usage instructions... Do NOT overlook the requirement that you also need a FredoLib installation to use this tool... after getting the tool get the Lib, again carefully following the instructions on downloading and installing that too...
