thanks guys,
all your tips are great!
pbacot I am so sorry I didn't see your attachement first, only today
your work is great, thanks a lot !!
I will use your components for work
thanks again !!
p.s. how did you creat a complet road with the follow me tool with an only pencil shema ?
Hi, sketchup is primarily a visualisation program with a very easy, almost vertical learning curve. Basicaly, Bim starts as a visualisation tool but vertically intergrates project management cost estimation etc.
You do not "select" them. Endpoints are the only entities in SU that are impossible to "pre"-select BUT they can be "auto"-selected by the Move tool. Just hover over the endpoint until you see the green "Endpoint" tooltip and click to start moving it.

Good. Let me know what I missed on your example so we can see what needs to be different to make it "that's exactly right" instead of "That's pretty much what I want to do."
Assuming it is not hidden as mentioned above (which I would bet is the case) - do a save as so you can delete all the layers one by one.
Start deleting layers and be sure to move the geometry to the default layer when the prompt comes up.
At some point, assuming you have moved the geometry to a layer you cannot remember, you'll see it appear in your model.

Note the last layer deleted. Go back to your original drawing. Turn that layer on. Or delete it and move the geometry to the default.
thanks Dave,
I think that might be it. I'm going to change permissions to everything as I've had some permission errors show up when dealing with other folders.
echoboy. You google "kerkythea". There's a plugin "SU2KT" that works to export from SU to Kerkythea, which is a standalone application. It's not the easiest renderer to learn.
You can use almost any image for your background. In SketchUp the background image is called a "watermark". There's info about it in the online help center.
Sounds good , if you ever come close to Prince Edward County in Ontario and I'll make the pie.
My son uses sketchup and is an architect -different work but combined with Autocad maybe groups have a purpose? I'll talk to him. Thanks for the time you must spend to keep idiots like me informed.

Hi - I did not use match photo but imported it as an image. Actually I did what I needed to do for the client in photoshop and now re-doing it in SU to practice. I thought this is a good house to learn on.
I did not think of scaling the porch since the house was scaled. I guess any part of the house that is not flat with the siding such as the eaves and porch will need separate scaling.
If I had an angled photo and used match photo, would that solve the problem?
I would think that accurate scaling would be a problem with an angled photo too.
The UV mapping is described in this video from Thomthom, so no need to reproduce it...

I suppose you unzipped the zip file and windows made a complete folder from the zip file - which you then moved into the plugins folder.
No, you need to move the CONTENT of that windows-made folder under the plugins folder.
I have just solved it.
I make in Sketchup my model with right textures. And just before exporting I flip the whole model through YZ plane. The game takes this and reverts back to correct positions. It is comfortable for me because for the whole time I work with correct model.
I'll do this until I find plugin which will do it for me.
Have a nice days guys, I am very happy with my model!!
