    • Undo function isn't working properly

Hello, last 3/4 months I didn't have the time to draw something. Finally I found some time and then, I discovered a weird problem with the Undo function. I think most people would use the normal CTRL + Z configuration like I do, but SU won't save this setting. Alt + Backspace is everytime the 1st shortcut, when I change it to CTRL + Z, next time it's gone and back like it was..

      That's problem one.

Problem 2 is that my Undo function won't go back that far like I was used to. I think it was up to 100 steps back when you press CTRL + Z constantly? Really nice working that was. Now it's sometimes 1, 2 or maybe, when I'm lucky, 5 steps back. It's driving me crazy... this isn't working at all.

There's something wrong with my memory, chache or something that I have poblems like this? Or something else?

      Edit ;

I think the problem is a little bit bigger then the Undo Function alone.
I just started a render, settings for reflections and so, but nothing changed. very material I editted with some render settings, SU didn't save them at all.

I've used a photoshop-liked programm. I drew 20+lines or so and there I didn't had the problems I have in SU. I just can go back to the fist line I drew with the undo function.
Has SU his own cache memory? What can I do to eliminate this problem?
So, this is a memory/cache problem for sure, I think. The only thing SU have saved and is staying 'normal' as I've wanted, are my toolbar settings.

    • How to move points/lines ?

Because my English isn't that good, first I'll show you a video where somebody is moving lines/construction points ??

From 2:02 the guy is moving points/construction points of the lines and I've red some commentary beneath the video, but I can't find the solution how I select these 'points' ?

(Or my English is really really bad) πŸ˜•

    • RE: How to make roads pls ?

Maybe I've 2 tips for you. First thing you can do is download the Weld (review) plugin, this is a plugin where you can weld many lines together to 1 long line, just as Pilou told you, with the Line-Arc tool.

Then you need the Shape-Bender plugin (together with Progressbar.rb) and then you can make very nice and smooth roads, over mountains, even with cross-overs. I made a quick example for you:

First you have to draw your road-surface, along of the red x/y ax's. When you're done, you make it a group and outside the group, you draw over the centre of the group a 'guide' line.

Now the coolest part, designing your road. For example I made a road with a cross-over and elevation in it. As you can see, the road wouldn't tilt to one side. When you're done and happy with the 'track', you can weld these lines to 1 long line with the weld-plugin.

      http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn72/Meike28/ShapeBender-2.jpg

At first, you select your group with the road surface. Once you've select this road, you go to the ShapeBender plug-in. After activating the plugin, you select your guide line above your group. Then you will select your track-line where the road would be created.

Now Shape Bender is activated and if the red/blue looks fine, after th "Enter" switch, you will get this:

      http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn72/Meike28/ShapeBender-3.jpg

The second tip/option. Is creating the road like the first picture, but instead of using the ShapeBender plug-in, you can use the Fredo Scale plugin..

With this plugin you will need more time to create a long curvy road, but it's also possible to give some corners a little banking πŸ˜‰
