Wonderful! I happened to have lived in Bristol for 6 months and I am quite familiar with it. Makes me wonder how it looked liked back them. I presume Clifton and Cotham weren't there yet (I have to check the building periods of those areas). I am halfway in the progress of reconstructing a town in the 1900's. This (with all its details) already took one year of spare time. I am curious about your progress.. Pascal Serrarens.

I am using Snow Leopard v 10.6.8 and have full read and write permissions for my complete hard drive. I have tried to save this local collection in my Documents folder as well as the hard drive / library /application route.

Thanks, Gai, for the advice. I'll definitely check out TIG's tool to snag the loose geometry, which I'm SURE I have (I just can't find it easily). Sounds like a good plug-in to run periodically for good model maintenance.

Thanks Kris for this info. Rich has done some work on this end of things and will be launching something once we have the site revamp completed.

When you launch Profil Builder click on the Library window (name must become blue) press the Up / Dow arrow of the Keyboard so each familly model is scrolling and drawn ! When a familly is choosen make the same for the second Level It's not a catalog but it's not so bad And with the last icon (a yellow star) you can add to "Favorites" a profil choosen !

My problem is not with Hardware Acceleration, but is Sketchup that is not recognizing my modifications in NVIDIA Control Panel. I have been having this problem with two of my laptops. Thanks for the Reply

Use the triangulate function in Blender before exporting, this sometimes helps.

It may also be a misconfigured file association. Richt click on a skp file thumbnail, select Properties and there under the general tab, there is an "Opens with..." line. If not SketchUp is set there, change it to SketchUp.

@frenkthetank said: Thank you! I have edit the model a little bit further, and made some quick renders aswell. So i think this will be my final update on this one. Hey frank.. You called this quick renders but I thought that was very nice materials and rendering you got there. Is this rendered in Vray for sketchup? Would you be so kind to share me this file if its not asking too much. I particularly like the floor material and your render settings.

You misunderstand its function. Unlike ACAD... you cannot insert a SKP 'reference' into another SKP file and thereby reduce that container's size. You must always add/load an instance of the external SKP [full size]. If you need to use Xrefs you should work on the individual files and not the main-container. The idea is that several users can work on individual external component SKPs and them refresh the main container SKP, reloading them as needed. As you say if you edit the component in the main-container it might be newer than the external version, changing the external version will then prompt a possible update which would overwrite data... You do not need to use Xref manager unless you have several external SKP components that are combined into one file. There is no file size advantage in doing so.

The newer versions are much better. Take the time to customize it a little in the user prefs and you can get it to act in a more familiar way, like SU. Nonetheless, it will still have a learning curve. I much prefer the newer versions, I've been able to accomplish a lot of work in them that would be painfully difficult in SU and then import that work into an SU project. I still consider myself a Blender beginner though. It's difficult to figure things out sometimes, like many free apps there is limited documentation on how to get it to do what you want and much of the information is for older versions. Very frustrating at times.

You can also try sandbox drape, but only if your pattern does not wrap all around. You'd lay the glass on it's side. 2d pattern, drape then use joing push pull to recess. In most cases (whatever methods) you probably want to first scale the glass 100 times too large and scale down after the application of the pattern.
