      This one?

HAHA!!!! Now I see the issue - I unchecked the "Use Model Extents" box and all is right in the land!

      Did you see anything else?

      Thanks for the nudges, Dave.

      Dave;

Two screenshots showing the Basic and Advanced settings. The Print Profiles tab is a place to create profiles and I have never used it - all should be at default settings.

      Thanks for looking at this.

    • Printing in top view yields tiny image

I have finally completed my design for my router table and was printing cutlists, different components and dimensions, etc. All worked very well the first few times thru. You know, I can always think of a modification or something slick right after I take the last ream of paper off of the printer.

Anyway, I came back to check dims on my router table top and tried to print it and the drawing came out as a speck on the sheet.

I zoomed. I zigged. I zagged. I vroomed. I did all number of things to work this out. Interestingly the issue is in TOP VIEW only in both Perspective and Two Point Perspective, but NOT in Projection. That is to say when I click on the Top View button and it straightens the picture out flat, the Print Preview and the Print are extremely small, as in 1/4" x 1/4" on an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet.

Now, every other view works just fine. [Hold on, let me verify that.........yes! It is true!]

Now, if I tilt the Top View as little as a half a bubble off (no smart remarks here) it previews and prints fine.

What gives? I have a workaround, but this is screwy because it "just happened". I know. I know...too many episodes of Ghost Hunters.

    • RE: Materials changing after creating and using

So you are THAT Dave! Awesome!

Thanks for the link. It made all the difference. It made me re-think my organization and use of materials and so I have begun to create a "plywood" collection of 48 x 96 sheets and now I have no issues with weird lines. As a bonus it finally sunk in the difference between applying materials and paint. Thank you for the time and patience.

Thanks, Dave. I set the dims to 12 x 12 and it looks fine now. I am using free V.8 so your screen shots didn't match mine (Materials panel) but I went to YouTube and learned a few things, which is a good thing. One of them is that you have to apply the material to a face in a drawing before you can actually edit the material. Thanks again!

Dave, what are you looking at? As of your reply I do not see my uploaded file. I did use Microsoft Picture Manager to reduce the file dims from the original 650 x 650 to 327 x 327 (don't ask) and then used Sketchups Materials>>Create Materials and used that .jpg file, so Sketchup created the .skm file for me.

    • Materials changing after creating and using

I used some .jpg files of wood textures to create .skm files through the material manager and they worked just fine. The next day though some of the materials now show up on the sketch having alternating material in true color/textrue with a big black line OR a shortened double gray/black line. Any ideas why this is?

      Some notes:
Before using the .jpg I made sure they were square and then compressed them for web use to make the file sizes smaller. Their L X W varies from 250 x 250 to 650 x 650. I cannot find the criteria for best use of .jpg to .skm.

      Any ideas?
