Probably a tag usage issue. Make sure you haven't assigned a tag to the edges and that tag isn't turned off. Make sure you are using tags correctly leaving all edges and faces untagged and only tagging objects (groups and components). Also make sure you are leaving Untagged as active. The pencil icon on the far right is always at Untagged.

Fredo6's - Fredo Scale plugin should do this using the Radial bending tool. You will find it in the Plugin Store along with plenty of guidance on using it. I would suggest making a copy of the roof element as a spare before starting. Good luck!

I'd like to see an example file that shows the problem you are having. i frequently adjust the stretch geometry with the Move tool and infer to entities outside the current group or component with no problem.

Hi Tig Found file but no author information. Googled it and found that it was Smustard now trying to reload it

I tried to id the 2016 scripts via Sketchucation Extension Manager but it wouldn't recognise them. I remembered one may have been Smustard and other perhaps J. Dolabany so I downloaded each of those. I recall one suited me better than the other. Both are .rb files. I'm not clear about you last question. Couldn't I clear out and start again with your guidance?:)

Dave this is a very well organized method to follow. I wish there was an easy way to print out a list of the plugin/ extensions I have installed so I could then just go through the list and check them off as I install them in the new version. This is also s good time to re- evaluate which ones I actually use and wether to install them in the new version of SU. Would be neat if someone could come up with a "migration tool" that would take your steps into account and walk you through the process. Once again, thanks for sharing you process. It is well thought out and logical.

There's another approach. Here is a simple example. May be more difficult with a complex plan. Using TIG's extrusion tools. Extrude edges by Vector to Object. My Computer Guru has installed several drives on my PC (it has been rebuilt and upgraded to run SU several times) and encourages me to have programmes separate from data. Programmes generally default to loading on a particular drive in my case the C drive unless told otherwise. I've ended up with SU6 on one drive and SU8 on another hence more than one plugin folder. I've also noticed another plugin folder sitting immediately above the programmes folder in which SU8 is situated. It could be that this has been inadvertently copied maybe. I understand I have a 'raid' system but have no idea how it works, I only have modest understanding of hardware and software. I hope this goes some-way to explaining why. Further questions welcome.

"Roof with raking verge[s]" If you add a short length of eaves [fascia] at the bottom of the slope - as you most certainly will to make it buildable - then it still applies... Or "Roof with raking eaves" [or "fascia"] If it's tiled/slated then you'll have a pain cutting the angled edges. Also if you consider it a 'sloping eaves' then remember that the finish needs to dress/overhang a gutter to catch water run-off and that gutter in turn needs to discharge into something to take it into a downpipe - so the two raking verges shouldn't meet at a point because their gutters need to arrive at say a hopper-head into a downpipe to make a properly drained and practical roofing solution. A modest width 'internal' gutter [like a half-valley] will allow the fascia to end at a point but the disposal of the water still needs considering...
