green preview appears, but it's not following the curved blueprint on the ground, it's not right above it (as it should), it's distorted out of angle and has this weird geometry pulling on it on one end stretching.

Tap the up and down arrow keys until the green preview is what you want, then hit enter.

Look in the status bar at the bottom of your screen for modifiers for tools.

As True Bend works only Object by the middle maybe you can use this little trick! πŸ˜‰

Open the component and add a little line! πŸ€“

If you are seeing border geometry it usually means there is a hole or your shape has no thickness.
A solid has to be a manifold shell of faces, a watertight container, otherwise it is just a mesh.
There are other basics about solids but without seeing what you have it is all guesses.

That must be it - no thickness to my mesh - thanks πŸ˜„

    Nice start, David.
If I were you I would divide the petal more. Maybe by intersecting some vertical and horizontal planes with it. Then I would rotate it 90 degrees so that becomes horizontal and using smoove tool would try to adjust it so that fits the side images.

I used Curviloft to create skin then add some cut loops to get more polygons so ThruPaint can texture skin with great precision.
After placing textures and creating holes in used Transmutr to reduce polygons and keep texturing intact.
Your finished model skin is not continuous and there is a great deal of holes and internal faces so I do not see a way for you to get great UV texture on that roof.

Just to clarify, I'm pretty sure you mean Fredo6's Bezier tool, JQL.

    I'm pretty sure I did.

What happened was that while I was trying to remember if it was Fredo's or TIG's, I remembered that I used it always from context menu directly without other UI, and that Fredo Plugins usually require the use of his floating UI for options which I didn't remember Bezier had. So I concluded it should probably be TIG's.

Sorry Fredo and TIG, thank you for the clarification Box.

Hi - with this bottle topic I also struggled some time ago πŸ˜„ I am not sure, but I think I had seen a great tutorial from forum member Cotty and afterwards I made my own attempt, which I then posted in the Shaderlight Forum (see link below)
    http://www.artvps.com/index.php/discuss/viewthread/1332/
There I also documented my done steps, which are also to be found in the 3D Warehouse. I hope this might help...
