I don't know that that is true Trog... rFactor was built for a single thread, before dual or quads and the game engine is actually even older than that. They actually used the -FullProc to turn off a thread. Then it was reversed to turn on threads for the single thread software. So there could be some key to it. That's why i want to see the actual Microsoft writeup and description the actual tool and not the proprietary named command. I saw a 100% increase in FPS with it on as opposed to off. as can be seen in the following screenshots. So there definitely is something to be had in there. @pcmoor said: I made this DC in response to a question on the SketchUp community about "Generating a 2D irregular polygon for a geodesic floor plan" you can easily check the radius for a number of sides for a given length, then match the circle properties to suit Thanks... I'll give it a try.

@fredo6 said: ThruPaint does not provide continous textures across different groups. Actually, the best is to use the native Projected mode of the Paint tool, which, I believe use an absolute origin for texture positioning. Fredo One think that does work across different (nested) groups with native tools is to reposition the texture and drag each red pin to a one mutual location (endpoint of a basic edge or guidepoint in plane! of faces) further down and to the left of all included geometry (thus all the basic and grouped (nested) faces that need to be painted correctly). So all these faces would then have their red pin located at the same [X,Y,Z] location. For me it worked in you model. Tedious to do though and I had to reset one texture of a nested face. Probably a plugin would be able to dig trough the (nested) geometry to do all the faces in a certain plain with the same defined/selected material. This would exclude other faces, painted with other material. But hé, unfortunately I can't do Ruby scripting.

What is faster than light? To the bathroom, sometimes you don't have the time to turn on the light. You don't have the time to think anyway.

I have added a simple pivot hinge to any door - you choose. You provide a value for the pivot point. I use that value to move the rotation point precisely the value you picked from the end of the door. Then I center it by simply dividing the door thickness by 2 I know some pivot hinges use offsets - this one currently does not.

I think it's just about usability - as far as I know, the game environment treats everything as tris. SU doesn't export models in a nice, quadrilateralised form, since it was never made with quad-based modelling in mind. A face with some rounded corners, some holes cut, and maybe some arching edges may seem simple in SU, but actually translates to a lot of tris that export in whatever arbitrary way SU decides, making it difficult to edit in Maya, Max, Blender, etc. Quadrilateralising the mesh helps, as it arranges the tris nicely, but even so, they are still tris. The main reasons I like quads: -Easily editable. Dragging vertices around on a quad mesh creates predictable results. ngons act strangely in this situation. -Edge loops. Edge loops are a huge part of most modeling applications, and allow for easier selection, division, and readability. tris and ngons do not produce good edge loops. -Deformation. Quads deform predictably and smoothly, making them much more presentable in an animated mesh.
