Hi Ken! How are you getting on with Curic Studio? I purchased the plugin last week. Just a question, does Curic Studio works offline for you as well? It crashes Sketchup each time, I have no internet connection. Would be great to hear from you! RW

Perhaps you need to contact the author of Deep Select and see if there's an update for it. I don't use it so can't comment.

Thanks, TIG So, I wanted "lock by layer" moved up in the menu structure. Change name from lockbylayer.rb to A lockbylayer.rb. Also changed the code "file loaded" to the new name. Moved up and still works. This was not obvious just by looking at the plugins in the plugin directory. Anyway, got it fixed. Would really like this plugin to be a toolbar plugin. And thanks TIG.

Works for me as lock by layer However it is often easier to search for just a word and and scroll through what comes up. I found this by just searching in the store for 'lock' Edit: a quick tip incase you are using the search box at the top of the page. That searches the forum. Well TIG thanks for the reply. I guess I will need to be more careful. One thing I did notice after that disaster, I tried to find all the places that I had added the Guides_Proxies and I guess I didn't find all the guides. Because when I exported to a 3d DWG, I saw areas that had the text, "Guide to Proxies" in my 3d CAD file. They were scattered all about the model. In the SketchUp file, I tried everything I could to locate these "guides" but couldn't locate or make visible these wondering "guides" Anyway, thanks to reply and help. Now just use your "plugin master" weight/charm to make the SketchUp team to make TAGs undeletable. The above was humor. Not good humor, however, meant in jest.

Dave Thanks. Well, I found the problem. The screen was not maximized to the fullest. It looked like it filled the total screen area, but When I made the screen smaller, it still behaved the same way. I went to ver 2020, made the screen smaller and it incorrectly behaved like version 2021. Then I made the screen full screen in 2020, and it behaved correctly. Went to 2021. Made the screen smaller than full scale. And now it works. Again, thanks for the help.

OK. I think I get what you want. You want to lock components and groups that have the same layer tag. It wouldn't actually be that the layer tag is locked since that doesn't really make any sense. Since it would be the groups and components that are getting locked, why not look in Outliner? There you can see what's locked and what isn't.

I will do that TIG. I didn't do it after I made the correction, because the plugin wasn't mine and Jim over the years has made me a couple of life-saving plugins. I am not a code writer. I am sure others will find this not the optional solution, however, it does work for me. I would like to see this plugin modified so it is correct for 2019 and future versions of Sketchup but don't wish to step on anyone's toes. See the attached PDF document to see how I modified the directory "Toolbars" to make the plugin work.
