TIG: I did a real quick test and the data mining functions seems to work great. I'll be using it extensively during the next week or two. If anything comes up I will post here. Thanks again! "You're a gentlemen and a scholar." ... W.C. Fields

Yup, I admit I am lazy, just don't want it to happen at all. I do a lot plan and section tracing. They represent various interconnected concrete channels, tanks, flumes, wells, and the like. Not like a building where you have fixed floor heights, but a lot of intermediate elevations, with "zig-zagging", sloping channels. Tracing is far better faster than redrawing from a dimensioned plan or section (if you don't have to do a lot of cleanup) and is less prone to operator (me) error. :0

Hi All This should work for almost any "movie" format. Super translator from and to===== http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Such as avi-mov-wmv to swf/flv etc. Audio and Video settings. I have used this a bunch and no VD. It will make you scroll through info before getting to the download and will beg for a small $$$ when you go to settings. One will need to know settings for each file formatb but works like sliced bread when you configure correctly. Hint: deselect DirectShow Decode [ ]box dtr

Tig, So far, from my testing, hidden objects are not being exported. Try it yourself. If you create KMZ file, change it to a ZIP extension and open it. Examine the diretory and file sturcture. If you want to examine the embedded KML file (or KMZ file directly), try Northgate's free KML editor.

@xrok1 said: although, who says you can't change it the dims in SU then update in LO? You could - a rectangle of a SU model. Here it's about a shape in LayOut however (imagine a rectangular area with borders around a text). @John; well, at least you CAN scale it at all!

So it shows the link as missing. As you say, that doesn't prevent you, however, from doing edits and saving them, but the updated link is not "functionable"; you'd have to save a copy of the SU file to your PC or a server, then re-link to that. I was kind of surprised by this. After creating a Layout file, I deleted my original SKP fle. When I opened the Layout file and edited the viewport with SU, my link path was identical that which you have shown. It is interesting to me though, that when I did a File > Save As or File > Save a Copy As that an "external" file was created in my Document and Settings path [see below]. I would have thought the process of updating the invalid link in Layout would have automatically searched this location and revised itself and shown that path. [image: dRot_SaveAs.png]

Difficult. You can't change it while Sketchup is running -> restart. But you can try to override the Sketchup methods for adding (sub) menus and menu items keeping the old methods with alias names. Your methods "hook" into the old methods, before they perform their action - short IRB session explaining what I'm talking about: irb(main);001;0> class A irb(main);002;1> def a irb(main);003;2> puts "a" irb(main);004;2> end irb(main);005;1> end => nil irb(main);006;0> class A irb(main);007;1> alias ;old_a ;a irb(main);008;1> def a irb(main);009;2> puts "b" irb(main);010;2> old_a irb(main);011;2> end irb(main);012;1> end => nil irb(main);013;0> A.new.a b a => nil Your method could read the correct menu structure i.e. from a text file. But you have to make sure, that your script is eval'ed by Sketchup before another script adds menus or menu items. azuby

Ecuadorian, i think its unlikely that the conversions would be done on your computer and then uploaded. Its more likely to be done at the google end, after youve uploaded your model. Having said that your model might not show up in the 3dwarehouse until the conversion has been done, which would explain the slowness.
