[Request} Search Layer Names and Object Names

I'm importing CAD files with literally hundreds of layers. The layer manager only sorts by the first character of the layer name. It would be VERY helpful if I could search (and then select) layers for character strings similar to what the Outliner is capable of; for example: CNTR, DECK, WALL, SLAB, RBAR. This would make the job of reorganizing/reassigning the layers to meet the needs of the model much easier and far less time consuming.
Similarly, being able to search and select object name strings would be helpful in revising existing models.

Without doing some investigation into the available Layer methods, I'll go out on a limb and say it's possible. Just need to find time
