FYI, you can play the video links for at least the introductory chapters. I haven't tried any others. Kevin does seem to be a good communicator.

Another slick trick is to write-block only the autocad objects you want in SU to another (new, now pretty clean already) file...then proceed with the flatten, etc., fixit procedures there.

Thanks Gai, for replying. Sounds like I'll make this a request for the next release . Ever since the last couple releases of GE, it seems the cameras translations (at least for me) of SU scenes to GE have been on steroids and require too much adjusting in GE. IMHO this is too inconvenient to be practical. John

1- The newest version of dwg we support is 2007. When you save down to 2007 in civil 3d it strips out the google earth snapshot entity because its "unsupported". 2010 dwg might support geolocation but we can't import it... 2 - Civil 3d uses the same com api that sketchup uses. I think you get the exact same quality that you currently get in SU. Zooming in closer is the only way i know of to increase the resolution of the terrain. hope this helps. Simone.

Chris, in SU it always goes to List display. In Windows XP, all my default Folders View is to browse and display Details.

With the SU API it's possible to select items inside groups/components. It's just the SU UI that doesn't do it.

Thomthom: If an edge loop selection terminates at a 3 or 5 junction, do you see this as terminating the selection or retaining the selection up to the junction? And thereafter the selection is made edge by edge, adding to the path, or restarting the loop selection without losing what has been selected before. Just some thoughts. How many people model like this, you ask. Because I have some limited experience with Blender, I often think in terms of that workflow (wishing that Sketchup had that versatility) as I model in SU. In my opinion, this loop selection capability (and your current Selection Toys) is at least as important as the Point Merger tool recently developed and Select only Visible. Somewhere out there is the Grand Unified Modeling Program....or GUMP for short. (edit: add small chuckle)

Out of curiosity, is there anything in the features in Dynamic Components which can call the Scene names, etc. Be cool if you could have one dynamic component that could update itself when place onto a new page or if page discriptions or order change.
