Dave,
Not sure of version number, but just downloaded yesterday.
I'll PM a partial .skp
Thanks,

I don't understand why you aren't getting what you need with the CutList plugin. It will drill down to the lowest level of components with no problem. Actually, which CutList plugin are you using?
Dave...I don't know why either..believe me I tried to make it work. ;~)
Cutlist

I would be interested in seeing your model to see how your components are structured. You could PM it to me if you don't want to share it publicly.
Dave,
Thanks, I may just do that...........especially if I have correct/current cutlist plug in.
Charlie
Hey all,
I am certain this has been discussed and solutions exist...however I cannot find "it"
Project has numerous parts & pieces.
IE:
Stair stringers/Stair risers/Stair treads/screws for the treads & risers/Simpson Strong Tie hangars/brackets/Bolts nuts washers for the rail posts etc...etc.....on and on.
I have tried using Cut List to a degree of success, although it seems to ingnore some nested components now matter what the key word.
So finally to my Q
Anyone know of a plug-in that drills down and generates a simple list of components by name and quantity?
I know I can also generate report, but that gives quite a laundry list that requires condensing.
TIA,
Charlie

At the moment I can't get sketchup to work above crawling speed as soon as import an image to trace. This is despite cropping the shite out of the scanned image and pulling the resolution right down to the lowest setting.
Is this common?
Have you ever "purged unused"
Window....Model info.....Statistics.....Purge Unused button is at the bottom of the window.
Unused images can really Bog things down for you.

@TIG - yes, I would expect the two outputs to be directed to two different heads. Perhaps they just plumbed it wrong. If they do split at another valve later up the line, then it seems like they used the wrong valve altogether at this looped valve.
Looks like a diverter valve above the mixing valve....so yes it likely is plumbed wrong.
A diverter valve.......performs as it suggests
9:00 output left should go to wall shwr head
3:00 output right should go to ceil shwr head/or hand held...or vice/verse (3:00/9:00)
IOW.....should not loop/double back to same shwr head.

I'll be back up there this Friday, and I'll look again closer to see where the HCW output line goes, and also follow the ceiling and wall head lines backwards.
As fancy as they get with blue for cold lines and red for hot lines, I'm surprised they don't have a color for mixed hot and cold.
Pix of the entire circuit would help......and........sorry....but it appears 2 colors may be one too many already....:~)

What is this type of system called? Are these PEX lines? It's some type of whole-house distribution system. Is this the norm these days, or just high-end?
Yes it is PEX and the norm......nothing sexy about it!

Todd,
That sounds reasonable....here it's $750 to $850 for small lots .25 acre.
But here contour lines @ every 2' and we have tree and topo in "one".
Might check with the surveyor to be sure it is topo "only" as it likely is tree and topo.
Also, I have learned to stay with the same surveyor throughout the duration of a project.
1.)Site plan with setbacks.
2.)Tree and topo
3.)Hub and tack for foundation
3.)Batter boards (if required/slab)
4.)As built including driveways (impervious surfaces)
5.)Elevation Certificate (First finished floor @ xx.xx')
FYI: County/Town/Bank/Insurance company may require some or all of above.

Gai,Tig
Thanks to both of you for looking into this.
This curved roof canopy profile is by manuf. and the color was "sampled" from their brochure.
By sampled.......I took a snapshot (Adobe Acrobat Pro)and saved as .png.
Imported same .png to SU as a texture.....think I exploded (?).......grouped.
Then....used the eyedropper/match color on screen to create a "color".
Obviously, somwhere in that process I created a monster..... :~)
I hope above info somehow explains the anomaly, and perhaps serves as a way to duplicate the occurance (should there be a need for such a thing).
I will adjust the color as prescribed........and again thank you both for your help in this matter.
All the Best,
Charlie
Hey all,
Please have a look at the shadows in attached .skp.
It is my understanding the shadow of my corrugated canopy should look more like the shadow of the smooth canopy on the right...exception would be the edges where they should be more "saw tooth"
Assuming this is not a graphics card issue, and you see what I see....what say you?

Charlie
Same happening here.....Add more imagery produces whited out window.......however the reccomendation to clear location deletes my in model current image/terrain.
If I set my in model imagery/terrain to another layer before each addition..... I can then clear location and proceed adding imagery.....and of course creating a new layer for each addition.
Charlie
GSU Crew,
Please pardon my attempt at humor.........but it sure seems as though you guys fixed/enhanced the scene/style update.....comunicado between SU & LO in the last update.
Here I am working a model in SU and before saving.......carefully making sure I update scene styles etc. before saving.(as I should/& have in the past Ver)......but in the past there seemed to be an errrrrrrrrrrr....... gap sometimes.
??.......but working my model this evening and saving...........flip to LO and the model view is already "current".........yeeehaww!
Am I dreaming/lucky........JK.........or have you guys fine tuned this integration between SU + LO?
I suspect you have......
Best,
Charlie
Bravo Tig...........Bravo!!!
Thanks lots,
Charlie

Hi Gai,
(and again thanks for your prompt reply!) Driver is NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800M GS 512MB. I did try the suggestions of disabling the hardware acceleration, but it had no effect. I've also noticed that my models look somewhat different. They don't appear to be as "crisp" with lines appearing a bit jagged.
Frustrated!

Would your system specs,OS or any of that be helpful here?
mitcorb,
Thanks for your interest in my problem.
OS is MS XP Pro.........I have fixed the issue by doing a repair/install instead of remove/reinstall (first time that ever worked!) ;~)
Interesting note:
Repairing the V8 also fixed the V7 issue........?
Best, and Thanks
Charlie
Hello all,
Before I reinstall V8 and V7 I thought I would ask if anyone has experienced erratic behavior with the show/hide dialogs.
I have shortcut F4 assigned for show/hide dialogs, and this has worked for both V8 and V7 for some time now.
I started having trouble in V8 a couple weeks ago......some dialogs would be missing or oversized (stretch the width of the window)after toggling show hide (F4).
Closing and re starting would sometimes briefly restore some but not all dialogs.
So I opened V7 and all appeared normal for a short while and then the same occured in V7.
So now both versions appear to be experiencing the same problems.
Any Ideas?
Best,
Charlie

sigh!, I thought my response would be aknowledged as intended,a poke at Google.
Now imagine a Beta tester said something like that, I would find that a bit concerning about the next release.........

Red,
If in LO you are using vector rendering, switch to raster or hybrid temporarily.
Place your section markers and switch back to vector.

Dermot,
Kitchen looks great!
RE: Color
I think you should throw away the shirt you are wearing in your Avatar and deny ever approving of such a color.
Hope you see the humor in that!

Greenace92.................what happened to you?
You piqued my curiosity with your Q.....and no report back
I have done a few "full" scale print runs myself with good success and wondering if you needed any further guidance?
Just checking.....

What I'm trying to accomplish-
-Plot or create fine lined plans (no blotchy/pixelated lines)
-Scale print 1:1 as in sketchup:printer
-Save space and not waste paper (green eco )So if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.
In SU:
Camera =parallel projection.......zoom extents.
File.....print setup......Adobe pdf.....properties......Adobe pdf page size......user defined.......add.......make page size exceed model actual size ~ 10%......name page.....add/modify....ok...ok...ok
File...print preview.....printer adobe pdf....properties...select your user defined sheet size(if not already selected)OK......scale 1:1......tick_use high accuracy hlr...........tiled sheet range should be 1 to 1....click OK....in preview model should fit 1 user defined sheet.....click print.
Now you can crop the excess white space in Adobe Acrobat Pro if you wish and print to the sheet size of your choosing........just select tile large pages.
This should give you a fine line, 1:1 scale......you will have to figure out the "green" part.
Best,
Charlie
NOTE:
Top "view" for some reason would not cooperate for me.......print preview splits model to 2 sheets regardless of the user defined sheet size.
