It looks like you made a nice 2D profile of the train but if you want to make that 3D and make it look right, I think you'll find you have an awful lot of work to do. Will you show the final model straight or will you want to put it on a curve or something to make it look more dramatic?

Are you opening the same 2015 file in all instances of SU “shutting down”. Describe shutting down in more detail: Does SU simply close without any message/error? Is there a bugsplat? Does it freeze for a while and then close? Etc.Etc. Have you tried turning off auto-save? The more detailed info you provide....the better the help you will receive. C

For more on this see: https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=69030&hilit=+icon Except for TBoy suggestion to resize alltoolbar icons, and slbaumgartner about overall monitor scaling, I never got an answer/resolution from any of the, I assume, many 4K users

@dave r said: Very likely signing out of SketchUp and signing back in would take care of it. But to get you going, you could go to the Extension Warehouse and download the Trimble Connect 2.0 rbz file and install it with Install Extension from the Extension Manager. I took the liberty of downloading it and attaching it here so you don't have to go looking. Thanks Dave. Solved it for me too.

I guess I should be clearer that this is regarding components with sub-components. If I make separate components for a cabinet and doors, and put them on separate layers, I can hide one layer and select one of them independent of the other. If I make a cabinet component with a door sub-component, I can still assign layers and view them independently within the model, but a report generated selecting the cabinet component will always include the door sub component whether I hide/layer it out of view or not. Just like if the report was made with "Entire Model" instead of "Current Selection" it grabs everything regardless of hidden/layer status. The "Current Selection" logic is selective only to the parent level. Once it has a parent component, it doesn't care if the children are hidden/layered away. That seems like a big oversight for it to behave differently than the logic users work with in the model, and is currently crushing my dreams.

With so many edges going on in there you are better off with the layer hiding option, but you can still make a significant difference by hiding the edges. [image: Dl5X_Softbleed.gif]

I converted it with SimLab Composer and got a 22.3mb skp 2017 file (no textures). Then converted your bloated skp (with textures) to fbx with external textures, and got a 4mb .fbx file and a folder with 24mb of jpg textures.

@juhil123456 said: Sketchup extension soap bubbles skin not proper work really disappointed this plugin. What do you mean by that? Be specific. Share your SketchUp file so we can see what you are working with. The extension works fine if it is used the way it is designed to work. What version of SketchUp are you actually using? You put Free/Make 2022 in your forum profile but there is no such version.

You haven't explained why you want to Intersect these faces inside the groups... However, to get intersection lines added into faces which are INSIDE a group, you first need to edit the group [double-click it or select+context-menu > edit], then select-all [Ctrl+A] > context-menu > Intersect with Model. New edges will be added into the edit-context where selected faces intersect other objects. Back-out of the edit, and repeat editing and intersecting faces in other groups. If your aim is to delete parts of a group's geometry to form 'miters' etc, then you might also want to add faces to those 'cut-ends' - by over-drawing edges. To see what you are doing more easily you can also chose the toggle in View > Component Edit > Hide Rest of Model [ it works on Groups too ! ]

Well I tried to pull it off effortlessly and sadly they can't be repaired..... RIP those models and created and reformed throughout the years since 2013. I'll never forgive the sudden deletion that day, it happened when I was away from home.

You could export model with WebGL export plugin and get all the textures in a folder. https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/t2h-export-webgl

I meant my evenings aren't now taken up with going up and down the stairs to change nappies! And I did say a 'little' bit more time! Thanks for all the comments guys. I would draw a 4-5/8" edge from the origin point of your component on the correct axis then use the middle handle with ctrl to snap to the end of that edge.
