One question would be: if you turn off HW Accel on XP and OS X, is it still faster? b

I like the idea you suggested TIG. It just takes a while before arranging all the plugins. In order not to misunderstanding, could you post just a "coded" example? Thanks MALAISE

Well, that's the dreaded flickering bug probably: http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=94927 As it says, try to avoid crossing shadows/lights borders with your camera path. You can make this less annoying if you turn off shadows and only leave "use sun for shading" on in the shadows dialog. This will not cast shadows on your (bare) ground plane however so if you need them, put there a horizontal face to receive these shadows.

Is the callback attached to any events? If not - it might be because the full HTML document isn't loaded...

No, there the "hole" is already cut for the installed component. This video shows a +trick" only, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITO-oaowwrU where the back face is painted with a transparent colour (so it's not cut through just see through and from inside, it wouldn't even work). Read this long winding tutorial about components and how they cannot (but can be "tricked" to) cut double walls: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=744 Also, here is a "working example" of what TIG mentioned above (and what you can see in the tutorial above): when two cutting components are placed opposite to each other onto the two opposite faces of a thick wall: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=a7960f12cf33423c9c6e1dd67923b5cd Now this is what these genius plugin scripters are working on; to automate the process somehow so we don't have to manually add these things all the time. And sorry for misunderstanding your first post - I thought you were asking about those "flexible" things.

I think, Whaat's plugin works on an individual basis (i.e. after you apply the texture on one sphere, you need to do the spherical mapping each by each). But why don't you give it a try?

Yes, what kind of macintosh do you have? I noticed that Sketchup will run just fine on my 20" aluminum imac, but very slowly and poorly on my 13" white plastic macbook. I know it can be very sensitive to the macbook graphics. -=Identity 4=-

I'm not sure, but it sounds like you're asking for a material to use in SU in order to produce the same results you'd get in 3DS Max. If that's what you're asking, it isn't possible; SU does not produce photorealistic renders. You'll need external rendering software and create/find materials that work with it.

Ever since I have "visited" Boulder (on GE) and it's also built mainly from blocks so don't worry.

This is probably the clipping effect. Read more at the above link and see if any of the circumstances are valid for your model and any of the fixes help. Sometimes (especially with imported geometry) exploding then regrouping things can also help.

The components can talk to each other - but it's a bit different. Click on the block with a hole in this example with the interact tool to see how I made it work. Set the onclick attribute of the switch to the following: Animate("Switch_RotZ", angle1, angle2); Animate("Light!Material", Material1, Material2). Doing this will work, even if the light is not in the component with the switch. The problem becomes importing and adding extra copies, but it is doable. Mark It's the game of telephone!
