@dougilli said: Is there any plugin maybe which let me select a face and project it then on the terrain? That's exactly the drape tool (and after all, it's actually a plugin)

Ah ok, thank you Gaeius. I think just referencing whatever information I use is the most practical way of getting round this potential problem then.

Hi jiggy, This is your first post Please welcome You can find a mini tut by takeshh about CopyAlongAPath on this [pushpullbar]²thread . And you will find some useful links inside this SCF forums.. for exemple: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=8631&p=51624 http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=4871&p=31290 http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=9659&p=60933 but: In My Opinion! Copy Along A Path scripted by the famous Rick Wilson (also the author of the extremely necessary Weld.rb) haven't been developed for long and is now a bit outdated (excuse me dear Rick ). We now have in order to copy components along a path, a new brilliant plugin Component Stringer cooked by an other famous author: Chris Fullmer !! And you can also take a look on an alternative interesting solution here on: Copy Array Along Path tool...have a look. simon

Hi Tom Yes it's been a while. we're both a few years older . It's nice to be back. I'm incredibly busy at the moment. In a "partnership" with another architect and everything has come together in a big way. I had 2 projects featured on http://www.worldarchitecturenews.com out of the UK. That helped the credibility factor immensly. We are swamped with work and are are the point of needing some help. That is a major change for the both of us so we will take our time looking for the right people. I saw the model that you mentioned and no I won't pay $160 for it. This is my favourite car. The latest sale was for over 3 million and I won't have that money for a while (going out to buy a lottery ticket now). There were about 13 made, from France, designed and built by 2 Italians Figoni and Falaschi. I saw your web site, congrats, nice to see you're making $$$ on your talent. How are you doing??? Health OK? Family? Give me a shout @ ld@lawrencedoddarchitect.com Best Lawrence

Have you tried. . . View > Toolbars > Shadows? That keeps the toolbar open. Is that what you mean? d

I recall that RickW also did some work on using a projected material that was balck-to-white hight-field gradient... http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=18024&p=149747&hilit=height#p149747

@driven said: IDX Free on Mac I only see the shadows on 3 pains in SU not much but hope it helps john Interesting. I guess IDX handles the transparency/color much the same as SketchUp. SketchUp does "all or nothing" on transparent shadows. Off above a certain threshold of transparency and on below it.

Captain, Here's a try at it using Jeans method. I drew a quick "From Scratch" mesh and then used "Sculpt Tools" with lag line turned on and just drug across the mesh a couple times to get this result. Then I used the radial bend to grab from the middle of the bullnoses buldge to the edge of the radius and bent it down ninety degrees. Did the same for the other side. In the second pic, I just used follow me to sweep a rectangle around a curve with pretty many segments, welded the inner lines to use as rails, then used TIG's EEbyRails to sweep the bullnose profile. That gave me enough subdivisions to run up and down the bullnosed edge with sculpt tools to mess it up a little. This method saved from having the polys where they aren't needed and will give more accuracy when doing rockfaced bullnose around radii. I was curious to see how things worked out for Yatu. he sent me the attached pics showing the work-flow and end image which he then was able to use for his project. Mike [image: R5N2_01-sketch-normal.jpg] [image: 8Xuk_02-shadows-with-lines.jpg] [image: F2Mt_03-workaround-just-shadows.jpg]

You can create these yourself rather quickly in Sketchup Draw a rectangle on the ground. Draw an irregular outline of a flagstone and close the lines. Pushpull the resultant face up say 2.54 cm. Erase the rectangle, select the remaining geometry, right click, select make component, give it a name. Do this a number of times to create unique random flagstones. Also, edit the component and trace over one of the segments on the bottom of the figure if you want to close the bottom face of the stone.
