A search engine that finds dead links and models listed as free that are not and sites/pages that are defunct. When did they rename google?

I can't look at the model so I can't tell what data you have or what you do with it. For working in SU (on buildings) I don't think complex meshes are helpful and for creating most work simple planes are most useful. So transferring the input to planes that approximate the existing data is best, as it seems you are doing. Then portions of the mesh might be included for specific uses, in the file later, or in a composite file .

Ah, yes as a developer I can see Rhino's draw. I have FormZ as well and it's taken some time to learn it's way as opposed to SU's way. I do like FormZ's openness to allowing their free and Jr versions to be used for ANY purpose, even commercial. I also like the included tool set missing from SU, stairs, walls, nurbs, etc..

What's your SU version, and What QGIS version? There used to a shp tool very long ago. Also have just found this, which may be a solution, or a path to one: https://forums.sketchup.com/t/importing-shapefiles-shp-to-sketchup-skp/59032/10 I can't help you more than that at moment. Haven't used SU for a while so it looks like folk are still doing interesting things with it.

Yeah, there's been discussion that since recent versions of SketchUp all have a 3DWarehouse window it should not be also merged into the Components browser. So far, no change, though.

SU works fine with 7xx cards. Try to close all trays (open only needed and then close); Disable: profiles, shadows, 'show hidden'. max. texture, Use layer off to hide geometry you don't need now. Transparency quality- low.

Also, if you haven't done so in awhile, log out and back in to the Extension Warehouse.

@bbergem @Dave-R Hello everyone, I'm working on a hotel project in which I want to develop anamorphic views based on images and models/objects. For the objects, I don't have any complexities, so it's up to me to divide them up into multi-objects and position them to create an illusion effect as far as the real thing, depending on the angle of view. On the basis of images, importing them in projected form works but is nevertheless complex and sometimes difficult to implement. I haven't been able to find a plugin that allows anamorphic projection of an image onto surfaces depending on the viewing angle, am I wrong? Would there be a solution for simply making these projections, a bit like what blender offers? https://youtu.be/BgbLXqqaHEI?si=NUWdJPZY2sE55qvg Help would be greatly appreciated and ideally the development of a dedicated plugin for even more solutions with Sketchup. Thanks in advance

This is the problem when model has geometry far away from UCS. Correct IFC so all the geometry is close to UCS - do not use absolute coordinates.

Hello, thanks for your advisors. I made this, It is pretty good for my first time just some line in the form after extrude. I resize the scale X1000. That is ok, I have learned something today. Just made a hole under the wheel pants for the wheel. 2 parts for 1 it is a good idea just a little glue and everythink will be well. I think I will more problem with the bonnet. Thanks see you later. [image: QU3Q_1.jpg] [image: CsWj_2.jpg]

I'd just be happy with docked or more manageable windows. EVERY session have to screw with those. And DON'T open a new document all the time!

I usually do a mix of modeled geometry and textures. For modeling there are a few different approaches. But generally after getting faces in the basic shape you want the water fall to take, then subividing to allow more detail - Artisan, Vertex Tools & SubD will get a nice shape going. Winning with Sketchup has a cool youtube tutorial on using Eneroth's Fractal Terrain Eroder to get water shapes, also. With Vray, I'll make a copy of the pool water, then change the uv tiling in the vray materal to be stretched in the direction the water is falling. This makes the water look as if it is falling. I use Interactive render with a small render region to help speed up previews. Also, tend to adjust the refraction intensity/IOR, as well as the reflection amount to get things looking right. And of course....always have a nice hi-resolution inspiration pic for reference!

What I referred to as an 'upstand' [in that it upstands from the 'wing'] is your 'block'. If it's a simple block it should make a simple cut/outline when intersected. Without more detail, or part of your model etc, you are asking us to help you without helping us to do so !

A tip.... Change the color of your guidelines to something not normally used in SU, like a medium orange. Not green, blue nor red. Yellow is hard to see as well. Being black and dashed they tend to hide. It would be nice if the guidelines could be 2 pixels wide, but, that ain't gonna happen.
