Well, I've never had anything to leak. It just seems like a big leap to a conclusion that doesn't have any merit and it feels a bit like stirring the pot.

@pixero said: Not sure I understand how it would work. Let's say you have three grouped boxes that are made into a group. What would be shown since the "parent" only is a group with subgrouped geometry inside? The parent doesn't contain any geometry. I imagine that if one group with one of the boxes is active, the other grouped boxes (inactive) would be shown as well, because they're also children of the big group that contains all three boxes. Anything in the model that's out of the parent group, would be hidden. I think such feature could be helpful in many situations with complex models where groups contain grouped groups etc.

Thanks juju, Wanted to see if you had a good experience with them. I also remember Chipp also saying that he liked their products and had used them on his 'Alamo' project. I downloaded the trials for both Sketch FX and AO yesterday and played with them a bit. I'm planning to pick up FX for sure, but I'm finding using AO in combination with FX taxes my poor old 2014 13" MacBook. The output looks fantastic though. @juju said: I'd hardly say I was active there, probably a handful of posts, if that many. 'Active' is relative of course — in a forum that doesn't have much activity! (You had posted enough times to indicate that you were a user of their plugins.)

Create a SketchUp template with a "dummy model" and scenes set up to show the desired views of the model. Then create a LayOut template that uses the scenes from your template for the various viewports making sure you don't modify the scenes in LayOut. Set the scale as needed for the viewports. Use the Sketchup template for modeling. When you are ready to create the LayOut document, open LayOut, select the LO template and, in Document Setup>References, relink the SKP file from the dummy model to your project model. As long as the scenes have the same names and are not modified, the viewports will show the project model. Here's an example from one of my LO templates. The template opens like this: [image: pvB2_Screenshot-11_21_201811_56_08AM.png] And, after relinking the SKP file to the project SKP file, those viewports look like this: [image: G7VE_Screenshot-11_21_201811_56_26AM.png] FWIW, the project title is Auto Text. While I'm in Document Setup, I add the title and it auto fills in the places needed.

Hadn't heard of that one before. Has some nice functionality but unfortunately it's not enough for this situation. The Curic align tool can only move things according to their centerpoint or origin point. So with the objects being of different sizes, moving things around based on those points won't do me much good. I need something that will take into account where the previous object ends, and adjust the next one's starting point accordingly. The closest one I've come up with so far is the 2DXY Slick Moves which does arranging items up equidistantly like I want. However I can't seem to influence the distances involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l39jgyJvDUI

Good luck with the toolbars. I've gotten in the habit of installing all programs using Run as administrator.

Check your model scale. If the triangles being generated are too small, it could cause errors. Try scaling up and see if you still run into problems. @brightwater said: I have mastered the follow me tool for creating a dome but cannot make it work when creating a very low dome. Does any one have experience of this.

@jakemm said: Does the GPU actually make much of a difference to SketchUp itself? I've heard conflicting comments, and I guess with the eGPU it's easy to see the difference as you can just unplug it. I just tested 2 scenario's using the CrowdTest 3dModel from the 3dWarehouse. First: Laptop with eGpu connected (gtx1080) with two large monitors. Biggest Scene(11) runs fine - eGPU 40% used (Task Manager) Disconnecting the eGpu while running SketchUp crashes SketchUp (and Unreal etc). Makes sense though. Second: Laptop running on its own (integrated gpu), only laptop display. Already in smaller scenes SketchUp is showing simplified geometry instead of the people. Big delays while switching between people and the simplified geometry. So for me, and the dual external monitor setup, already in SketchUp it's a big difference. I can just focus on my work and don't get annoyed that much by SketchUp's performance (unless I run a plugin while the Outliner is open, or LayOut is freezing for half a minute while updating etc.) It will depend though on your models. I rarely exceed 500k edges.

Have a look and see if your RAM is running out. If it is - make sure you close all internet tabs, photoshop and as many other programs as you can. Also try and reduce the size of the SketchUp window to as small as possible while the file is opening - to the size of a postage stamp if possible. This reduces the demand on the computer and has helped me open files in the past that were too large. Then after it has fully loaded, you can gradually increase the size of the window and trim some of the file size out by clearing out some of the model and re-saving the file.

Overlapping entities when you make an array with Move/Copy, indicates you aren't moving the first copy far enough from the original. Your Facebook link is bad.

rv1974 Like i said, i use them for years (always logitech, i think since ~20 years now), no problems in SU. I have a G700s. The software of the G300s should be basically the same (Logitech Gaming Software). https://youtu.be/vn7D8O7_d50?t=252 You can define any keystroke you want. I use combinations of two or more buttons for the shortcuts in SU to multiply the buttons of the mouse.

Might be able to find an open font that is close enough for your needs. No idea. I did a search last night, but as I had mentioned to someone else, it was sent to me as ai file, so it could be a font that was edited in Illustrator, and I need to use exactly what was sent. Wait, you have the .ai file? Open in Illustrator and then save as a .dxf or .dwg and then open in SketchUp. Extrude till the cows come home! HA HA HA HA HA HA - Was just about to hit the sack and talk to my Firestick but saw this as I was leaving. That was the best! I will absolutely check it out tomorrow morning when I can focus. Who knew!!!! Brilliant! THANK YOU SO MUCH. Will giggle myself to sleep now. Good thing I must be related to a pit bull somewhere and won't let go, because failure is not an option. (Hive mentality) So... I had to save the file in an older version of Illustrator in order for SU7 to recognise the .dxf file, then save it there as an .skp - opened it in 17.2 but all I am getting are edges, so there is no way to push/pull a face? UPDATE: I DID IT!!!!! LABOR OMNIA VINCIT!!!! Thank you all you kind PATIENT people. Thank you YouTube, and I'll take my Oscar now please. The Grammarly Free Trial 2023is a great way to try out this program because, unlike other free programs, it offers the basics you need to improve grammar. Almost all services offer a free trial period during which they are allowed to access all premium tools and features.
