Yes, exactly. I used shorter pieces of animation with the combination of stills (for the transition effects) in this video (demonstrating "phases" of a Roman excavation site). Used only Windows Movie Maker for it. [flash=600,500:159ufj09]http://www.youtube.com/v/bKsEpF1Neh0[/flash:159ufj09]

Thank you Dave, I've sent you the file. In the end it could be a corruption, possibly of both styles I wanted to save. Interested in what you think. I have found that I CAN save styles that came with SU into a new collection by the methods described, just not my created styles. Catch up with you soon. Peter [Update: Dave saved the Styles into files for me. In the process I figured out that SU8 was accessing the SU6 Styles folder. I threw out the SU6 support folders and things started acting normally. Thanks Dave!]

Thanks for the reply mitcorb... I was messing around with it today, trying to duplicate, and instigate the undesired behavior. It just appears to be "Hidden Geometry" becoming unhidden... Usually when I hide something, to get it out of the way of what I am working on at the moment, I'll click "Unhide All", when I'm finished. The randomly created hidden geometry, appears to just be SketchUp doing it's thing, behind the scenes, when edges, faces, and points, cross that forbidden "proximity line", where SketchUp no longer offers you a choice of precision - it just decides to do what it wants. In future releases, they really need to crack down on the math in this program... I'm getting sick of the same root problem, that seems to know no scale, or visibility. If any two edges, points, or faces are close enough to "snap" into another form, in the free version - then there really is no point in trying to market a pay version, which is essentially the same program, and same problems. Thanks again...

@aerilius said: I use three fingers for orbiting (and two fingers for zoom). That is because for me is three fingers = middle mouse button system-wide. If you can set it per-application, then try it. I'm curious if it proves useful I can't find anywhere on my system where to set three fingers to be set as a certain click... nor for two fingers. I've got the synaptic touchpad drivers... I might be able to it with additional software though... any suggestions?

Speaking of animated figures in sketchup, TIG has produced some interesting plugins along these lines which could be applied to a series of pics of a person walking / moving... at least in 2d... See these threads: Image animator http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=33310 GIF extractor http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=33359 It might be worth something to you guys wanting to develop this... Cheers Dave

@TIG: This is an interesting revelation for me. I was always thinking that a group was the first step to a component, not the other way around. But what you say makes sense. Things are not always what they appear to be

Pilou == Frenchie so he uses obscure names like 'Eclate-Deplace' which means something lie 'explode-move'

@unknownuser said: Sorry, that may of come off snarky. I don't model cars but there are many on SCF that do. Take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlDxc2wyIhY&feature=player_detailpage or http://goo.gl/WMyAO Lots of other ways are possible with some of the newer plug-ins. I only modeled one vehicle: Long time ago, [image: mybaloneyhasafirstname.PNG] Nahh, it's all good. I suppose that first tutorial is pretty darn close to what I'm looking for, I'll have to try that out. Nice Wienermobile, by the way. And Pilou... that car is incredible, it looks like something right out of the Fallout games

There is that too. bgrubb, it shouldn't be any problem if you simply hide the outlines. All the pages of signage here were all done exactly as described. Most of it is way less than 26" and as you can see...no problem.

Graphics drivers and OpenGL settings are commonly the cause of shadow problems. Since this isn't a bug, i'm going to move this into the SketchUp Discussions. Perhaps someone else will find it useful.
