    • RE: V2017 corrupting Dynamic Components

What does the change in UI on v2017 have to do with the dynamic components on v2016?
I should be able to run each program independently of each other, correct?

    • V2017 corrupting Dynamic Components

Loaded the 2017 update this week and now ALL Dynamic Components will not work in either my originally installed 2016 or 2017.
Installing 2017 somehow corrupted something along the way. I did have this same condition verified by another user so it's not my system that's whacko!
Does anyone ever check this out prior to releasing??
Very frustrating as now I have a useless v2016!!

    • Dimensioning a softened edge

I am havung trouble dimensioning edges on objects where I have used the ruby 'WELD' to join and find faces. It seems that once I PUSH/PULL the face I an unable to lock on a corner to dimension the part. If I SOFTEN edges it only gets worse.
I need to have a good looking model in the end for presentation but I also need to be able to dimension the model.

      Any help out there,

    • RE: Exploding an assembly of parts

      TIG,

Pilou's plugin was just what I was looking for. I looked the Plugin Index and went right by it. I tried searching first but have used the wrong terminology.

      Thanks,

    • Exploding an assembly of parts

Is there a plugin available to explode a group of groups and or components to create a type of assembly drawing showing all the individual parts and how they ultimately go together??
I have some custom cabinets that I modeled and there are some unique features that can only be seen when the components are viewed un-assembled. I have seen this type of action in another program but I can't remember where.

      Any ideas,

    • Printing difficulties..............

Why is SU the most difficult program I have ever used when trying to print a drawing?? It never fills a page right, dimension text is smaller than on screen when printed, etc. I have yet to have any luck printing a legal or letter size print where the model actually fits on the page. It's either real small, cutoff, or wants to print multiple pages.
I can't seem to scale anything to fit to the page as Fit to Page option has width and length tied together at some wierd ratio that doesn't fit a standard page.
I have been just capturing screen shots and printing that way as I still cannot figure out a good way to do it from SU.
Nothing seems to have changed in this area from v6, at least from my perspective.
What am I doing or not doing?? I just want to fill a page when printing and have everything legible.
I am assuming it's operator error unless someone tells me otherwise.

Need help from the SU gurus out there........

      Thanks,

    • RE: Printing X-Ray Style??

Here are the screen shots of my working application screen and the Print Preview.
Style is XRay. Tell me where the 'operator error' is taking place.
I have no problems with any other application when printing.

      Thanks,

    • RE: Printing X-Ray Style??

      Jeff,
Just doesn't work. I am in X-Ray style and when I go to Print Preview it shows exactly what I am printing, a non x ray style. I don't see any additional options when printing that would have any effect.

    • Printing X-Ray Style??

What is the trick to printing a style like X-Ray?? The screen image is what I neet to print and I don't relish taking screen shots, etc. I should be able to print from the application, no??

      Thanks,
