I can't save a style

I have tried different ways to save a style and for some reason it is not working on a Mac.
I can create files in the model and keep them fine, but I want to share the style in other models.

If I save a collection and open it in another file, there are no styles in it. If I drag a style from the model list in the styles dialog to another list in the second pane (such as "My Styles") a plus sign appears but there are no styles appearing in that collection.

If I right click to "save as" a style I get a dialog "Error saving the style file. The style could not be saved."

Any guess on what I am doing wrong? I have looked at the Google site and it is fairly terse in explaining. The steps are there OK but the relationships and results of the different methods of saving are not explained. I have searched here, but haven't found a discussion except a few more lists of steps, which don't result in anything for me.

I usually don't worry about saving styles except in each model, but I purged one accidentally and want to put it back in from another file.

Can you try saving it to a library that already contains some styles? Perhaps the Assorted Styles library.

Let's try to make sure you've got all the steps.

After creating your new style, type a new name for it and a description if you like.
Create a new style by clicking on the little + in the circle.
The top pane is set to In Model.
The secondary pane is open and set to another library.
Click on the thumbnail for the style and drag it from the primary pane to the secondary pane.

An interim idea: Check your PMs.

I've sent you the file.

In the end it could be a corruption, possibly of both styles I wanted to save. Interested in what you think. I have found that I CAN save styles that came with SU into a new collection by the methods described,just not my created styles. Catch up with you soon.

[Update: Dave saved the Styles into files for me. In the process I figured out that SU8 was accessing the SU6 Styles folder. I threw out the SU6 support folders and things started acting normally. Thanks Dave!]
